As Vilnius Mayor Advisor Karolis Žukauskas reported to BNS on Saturday, disagreements emerged with the event organizers due to the municipal fee: 9 thousand. euros. This amount is calculated by the fact that the Parque de la Montaña, with the installation and dismantling of the stage, will be occupied for about three days.
According to K. Žukauskas, the organizers had no problem paying this fee earlier, and this time the municipality refused to pay the permit for the concert. But on Saturday afternoon the permit was finally issued.
“The concert will be held, a compromise has been reached (…) Therefore, it has been agreed that the SEL team will soon make a partial payment, we will issue a permit, and we will leave the legal case for next week. – We will meet and resolve, “reported K. Žukauskas on his Facebook account.
According to him, the discussion arose mainly about who owns the Mountain Park, since its management is entrusted to the Castle Directorate, as well as some other objects in the capital, p. Eg Cathedral squares, although the maintenance and management of the site is the responsibility of the municipality and the area is subject to a decision by the City Council on tolls.
“The SEL team thinks otherwise, and a few hours would not be enough to resolve this legal case – the concert could not take place and probably all parties would suffer losses (and if they bought tickets, they would be left without a concert). Therefore, it was agreed that the SEL team will make a partial payment soon, we will issue a permit and we will leave the subject of the legal case for next week, we will meet and resolve, “he said.
K. Žukauskas thanked the producer, event organizer Jogaila Morkunas “for the mediation and help with the commitments”.
