It has already happened that in Vilnius, on Didžiųjų Gulbinų Street, with the appearance of luxurious villas on the shores of Lake Gulbinas, Vilnius residents missed the opportunity to visit a place of rare beauty in nature, which is located in the Verkiai Regional Park . Despite the fact that this place is listed as a recreational area of the park, outsiders are not allowed to enter.
It was not possible to build a residential house on this site, so another solution was found. Only buildings that meet recreational purposes can be built on this plot. So it was decided to build a resort. It has been stated that holiday houses are being built, which can be rented by whoever wants, thus creating the conditions for recreation by the lake.
However, it happened in a completely different way. The holiday homes described in the documents and represented graphically have been converted into luxury villas. Everything is covered by a blind fence. And well-known businessmen in Lithuania settled in those villas as a permanent residence. In the fenced area – sports courts, on the shore of the lake there is a sauna. However, all this is not for ordinary Vilnius residents.
The homes are built on state land that has been leased for 99 years only to use the area for recreational purposes. But now no one can enter this huge parcel of state land. Those who approach the fence are greeted by security and walk away from the video surveillance camera.
