The victory in the Euroleague was recorded by the Saint Petersburg Zenit team (11/5) represented by Artūras Gudaitis, who 89:77 (26:16, 21:19, 29:19, 13:23) dealt with the Athens Panathinaikos basketball players (5/12).
Zenit justified their status as favorites from the beginning of the match and already had a double-digit lead (20: 9) in the 7th minute, which they held even in the middle of the match – 47:35. After the big break the guests did not slow down and in minute 25 they were already leading by 20 points – 59:39.
After playing 3 minutes in the last half, Zenit beat their opponents (78:56), but PAO accelerated 12: 2 and came close to 68:80. However, the Greens couldn’t get any closer and the St. Petersburg club got a guaranteed victory.
