The Ignitis ON station on the 320 kW Ignitis state group network opened in the center of the capital on Monday, and more.
The operator of the new charging station declares that 100 km of energy is needed for electric cars to charge it in 3 minutes. Depending on the model of the electric car and many other factors (air and battery temperature, mains power, etc.), this allows you to charge up to 80% of your battery in just 20 minutes. It is true that so far there are few electric cars on the market that can make efficient use of the capacity of this station.

Ignitis notes that the region’s most powerful 160 kW ultra-fast charging station has been in the Estonian capital Tallinn.
Already this year the status of the country’s most powerful station is expected to be taken over by several German operators, Ionity, developed by the automaker, which is currently building three 350 kW power plants near Panevio, Kaunas and Krykalnis.
Darius Montvila, General Manager of Ignitis, declares in a report distributed by the group that the new fast (50 kW) and ultra-fast (above 150 kW) Ignitis ON charging stations should also appear in other cities by the end of the year.
Tamps up to 800V
The new charging station will be able to charge two electric cars at the same time, with dedicated CHAdeMO and CCS charging connectors for all electric car models produced in European markets. In addition, it is the first stop in the country that can charge not only 400V batteries for the content of poor electric cars, but also a new generation of electric cars with an 800V battery. Currently, the latter are only represented in the market by Porsche Taycan.
The operator specifies that using the CHAdeMO connector will charge the electric car to 50 kW. Due to the technological limitation of the latest connection standard, a maximum of 320 kW of power is supplied only through the CCS connection. It was also announced that the new station will charge electric cars only with electricity produced from Lithuania’s renewable energy source. Therefore, the owner of the network emphasizes that the electric cars loaded on it will be operated with zero real real emissions.
Ignitis ON currently operates 186 cargo lanes at 77 stations. It is planned for 2020. The network will be complemented by some 30 new charging stations. Since it opened last October, a total of 22,000 charging sessions have been held at the stations. A special mobile application has been developed especially for users of this network.
