BNS recalls that on Friday more than 100 people in the Šalčininkai district, Dieveniškės, demanded that migrants crossing the border between Belarus and Lithuania remain illegally in the city.
The government’s offer to host migrant families until September 1 was greeted with cries of “Shame” and “No”.
Migrants illegally crossing the border between Belarus and Lithuania are currently housed in the city and district of Alytus, Lazdijai, Varėna and other municipalities, as well as at the Foreigners Registration Center in Pabradė, at the guard school of borders in Medininkai.
