The minister has good news: pensions will grow faster next year

“Nor will we stop in 2022, I can already say that pensions will index faster than expected in the current law and will rise more significantly than expected. I don’t want to say a specific number today (…), but in 2022 all old-age pensions will go up, ”M. Navickienė told reporters at Seimas.

“We want the Sodra surplus, which we will see accumulating in the future, to be used for additional indexation, for pensions to grow,” he said.

Pensions increase every year, increasing on average as much as the economy and the population’s wage bill grow.

Sodra announced in March that this year pensions had increased by an average of 9.58 percent, and with the required time of service – from 41 euros to 440 euros, and the average pension – by 38 euros to 415 euros.

As of January this year, there were more than a million pension beneficiaries in Lithuania, including 614 thousand. elderly retirees.
