Last summer was characterized by warmer conditions than usual in Lithuania – it was 1.2 ° C warmer than the Standard Climate Norm (SNA), meteorologists note. Precipitation was close to normal. However, the individual summer months were quite contrasting.
June was warm (+3.3 ° C warmer than SKN) and humid (+ 35% rain than SKN). June this year became the second hottest June (18.7 ° C) in Lithuania in terms of average monthly air temperature since 1961. July is cooler (-0.7 ° C) and driest ( -19%). And August is warmer (+ 1.2 ° C) and slightly drier (-9%) than usual for Lithuanian conditions.
The summer weather with the first days of the autumn calendar did not end and the heat was spoiled for almost half of September. The first ten days of September were 1.1 ° C warmer and only 4% drier than usual. The second was more exceptional: even warmer (+2.3 ° C) and drier (-74% precipitation) than the first. In some places, the air temperature had risen to 27 ° C.
September 17 In many parts of the country, when the daily average temperature dropped below 15 ° C, the summer weather officially ended, occurring on average 2.5 weeks later than usual.
The air temperature in Lithuania in the second half of October is forecast to be up to 1 ° C higher than the SKN. Considering the whole month, the air temperature is expected to be up to 1.5 ° C above the norm (SKN 7.2 ° C).
Precipitation in the second half of October is expected to be up to 10% lower than the multi-year average, and precipitation throughout the month should be close to the SKN (SKN 66mm).
In summary, it can be said that until now October will be characterized by warmer conditions than usual in Lithuania.

• Coldest: 1976 (2.9 ° C), 1992 (3.7 ° C), 2002 (4.4 ° C)
• The lowest air temperature was recorded at -19.5 ° C (October 31, 1956, Varėna);
• The highest air temperature was recorded at +26.0 ° C (1985-10-05, Kybartai);
• Highest amount of fixed precipitation: 1974 (171 mm), 1980 (141 mm), 2017 (139 mm)
• Minimum: 1979 (7 mm), 2015 (12 mm), 1961 (18 mm).
