“Palanga has a great variety of options. In fact, it is possible to stay and from 10 euros to more expensive. Therefore, there is a lot of competition for options to eat and stay (…). Of course, more places can be found. This is natural because people give up some places and book again. However, from what I have spoken with the businessmen, in the middle of the summer, those people are happy to choose Palanga ”, assured the mayor.
Will the thousands of people who come here be able to quickly take Passport Pass tests? S. Vaitkus said that Palanga has a point and everything needs human resources.
“Palanga is not Vilnius, it does not have Santariškės, it does not have large institutions, it is natural that the same flows of doctors who carry out tests are limited. They still face the flow of people in the summer. Naturally, when we have a point, it can serve as many as, from what I’ve heard, 30 people a day. There is no room, but I urge people to bring proof. You can come to your city and come. “
Realizing that it is only valid for 24 hours, Š. Vaitkus suggested that a new test should then be written in advance.
“Yes, those are the Government’s resolutions, but I believe that the pandemic will pass (…), a large part of the events will continue to take place outdoors, so perhaps not everyone will need a passport. Actually, that passport is needed in the cafes of the interior. If the weather is nice, people sit outside. Companies know this and are preparing for it. “
When asked by the mayor why paid parking areas were expanded, he first emphasized that there is no paid entrance to Palanga.
„Nursing no, there is no need to pay. Now, to come by car, it is natural that if a person wants to go to the sea, they have to pay. In the red zone – 1.2 EUR, while in Vilnius it costs 1.5 EUR, and in the blue zone – 2.5 EUR. I urge all people to come to Palanga and forget about the car.
After all, you come for a walk, to breathe fresh air, to walk in the park, to lie by the sea. Why a car? I understand that there are distances in Vilnius, 10-15 km, a car is needed. Who needs it here? It is not necessary to leave the car here at your accommodation and take a bicycle or walk through the beautiful Palanga ”.
After jokingly asking the mayor how many public toilets there are now in Palanga, he said there are as many as 34 and this is one of the largest numbers in Lithuania. They also promised that their network would expand.
