I was wondering if I would have enough food bought in Poland, I also visited the German Aldi. For 25 euros I bought margarine for sandwiches, tomatoes, a couple of bunches of onion leaves, schnitzels, sausages, etc. In Poland I brought a little more for 24 euros, but German food was not very expensive either.

A colleague told me that I could go to the Dutch port of Hoek Van Holand because he would let me in after 10 and I could sleep peacefully. I arrived shortly after the tenth, handed myself a ticket and allowed myself to enter the port area, before passport control.

After all, lying on them, I’m not going very far. Probably dropped before a colleague took the ticket or exited a hole in the port. I wanted to take a photo, but the officer, seeing my intentions, groped his finger and pointed to the place next to the illegal detainee.

Soon a police car arrived and took out the “bunnies.” Not yet in England, but the English miracles have already begun.

There wasn’t enough time to get up

I have never sailed on a ship like this. I was very afraid of rocking because I did not know how the so-called motion sickness would work. Good luck: the weather was calm and the ferry enjoyed it. I got a separate cabin and a good helping of food.

While in the cab, I went to the drivers’ restaurant for coffee and saw what I had not seen before. I am not a saint, I have gone home a couple of times in my youth “feet first”, but lying under a table or stairs and still lost in a public place.

I thought the man was wrong, I moved, but he didn’t react. I waved at the restaurant employee, but he just laughed and nodded. Of course, the citizen lying under the stairs “ate excessively.”

The ferry leaves in less than seven hours. That time is enough to fall, but not to recover. A police team was already next to the ferry. It is these citizens who are ashamed of the entire TRV fraternity (Long Distance Drivers – Ed.). Because they are not noticed faster, they speak louder and louder about them.

The border guard, after checking my passport, asked me if I had a completed coronavirus form. I handed him the phone, underlined, and said, “How are you?”

I don’t speak English, but I replied: “You are how.” I don’t know what I said so bad, but I went through all the boxes, bags and got into underwear.

Extremely cheap livelihoods

Harwich Harbor was also enjoyed. There is a large square to spend the night and another German shopping center nearby. I guessed before I ran to run. Sure, if those prices were in euros, it would be cheap, but here everything is written in pounds.

For a small set of food – 1 kg of chicken breast, pancakes with meat, four fish fillets, a loaf of bread, cabbage salad, apples, grapes – I paid only 10.58 pounds – about 12 euros. I noticed that milk is cheap. 2 liters only 1.09 pounds. I don’t think it’s much.

After getting the food, I decided to drive to the dump site and sleep there. It has failed. Although the streets were wide, there was plenty of space, all lined with striking yellow stripes. Turning around the surrounding roads, I found a pocket no bigger than a bus stop. There was nowhere to go, I left her to spend the night there.

What an overnight stay there, from every romp to jumping out of bed and looking through mirrors. A small freight bus stopped in front of the night. Colleagues said that if there was a “minibus” in the parking lot at night, 90 percent. There will be thieves.

While they were standing, I sat on the seat with the saddle in hand. What time was he on his feet, but no one came out. I didn’t fall asleep until morning. When I turned on, I surveyed the site. I asked for details of the conditions. It works mainly with ports. 130 pounds a day. Weekends in a rented dorm, but you get nothing for those two days. The house flies your account, but only when the bosses run, not when you want.

I doubted my knowledge of English.

“You don’t need English. Management, drivers of the old socialist camp. Cars in English, trailers with various European numbers, a true international. Interested in the offer. We exchanged phone numbers and said goodbye. I counted everything on Sunday, I considered it. Money is not bad, but life in trouble in the cabin bedroom and the trip home.

I pay with a card in all stores, it is not difficult to calculate how much I spend on food. I spent 120 euros last month and I wasn’t hungry, even my belly got a little bigger. I’ve lived in a dorm since I was young, I know some of the nuances well. Sometimes the weekend gets more tired than the entire workweek and the wallet gets very thin.

On Sunday night, his wife put all the dots on the “i”.

“First move your feet in Europe, and then think of England,” he said, and I asked him.

12 hours to the ferry

Nine sweat broke out Monday when I pushed the truck onto the ramp. Space is limited, trailers are delivered, and pushing is required from the English side. It was nice that the staff regulated, otherwise they would not have pushed or drawn the sides of the other trailers.

I went to the port of Dover with my cargo, I went to France. The first trip is like nothing. Not that the devil is as scary as she seems. But 12 km before the port – stop. It turns out that the line to the port already starts here.

It was only after 10 hours of “stretching” that I rode the bridge over the harbor and saw the quirks of that control. Mileage queues, before passport verification: stuck with cars, but the port is empty and the ferries run half empty.

I spent a total of 12 hours getting on the ferry. The ferry is good: shower, food ration, unlimited coffee and no laying down.

I started working that day at 7 in the morning. I loaded up, drove to the port for 5 hours, 12 hours straight, 2.5 hours. I swam, and when I got there I drove for half an hour until I found a place to stop.

The working day ended at approximately 8 pm. It’s still good for me to slide in line for the day. What about the men who line up at night? It is very difficult to stand in a queue that is constantly moving little by little. There will be no escape and no place to sleep.

I do not understand why the anger and ambition of politicians have to suffer for people who do nothing. Politicians should move in those late-night queues, perhaps then look at TRV’s concerns differently. I did not like England, but if necessary, we will go again, because I came to work, not to smell.

To the boss later that he would be late to the landing point due to heavily processed work hours.
