The lifelong social democrat has been talking about what is happening in the party: it is an absolute disaster, an absolute

Juozas Olekas, who works in the European Parliament (EP), has already announced that he will participate in the election of the party president. He also alluded to the possible unification of socialist forces.

After the party’s general decision to withdraw from the ruling majority of the previous Seimas, members of the Seimas who did not agree with the party’s wishes remained in it and later formed a new Lithuanian Social Democratic Labor Party (LSDDP). Gediminas Kirkilas took the lead.

But the success of this party did not smile in the elections to the Seimas of 2020. Only some representatives of this party entered the parliament, all of them working in the Mixed Group of Members of the Seimas. In addition to political office, party leader G. Kirkilas and long-term MP Juozas Bernatonis remained.

“This is an absolute disaster”

Although the LSDP was described by political scientists and political commentators before this election of the Seimas as a “panel desired by all” that will determine who will form the government, left or right, but the election was not successful.

13 representatives of this party joined the Seimas and are working in the opposition. The party obtained 9.25 percent of the votes in the elections and remained in fourth place.

A. Malinovskienė Delphi Mr. Paluck claimed that Mr. Paluck had assumed full responsibility, although he was not the only culprit for the situation at LSDP.

“It so happened that G. Paluckas took responsibility, although in practice he was not at fault,” A. Malinovskienė assessed G. Paluck’s resignation as party leader.

He recalled that he also hinted at last week’s council meeting that those who approved the Labor Code in 2016 were also to blame for this appearance of the LSDP in the elections. The decision to join the coalition with the Lithuanian Union of Greens and Peasants (LVŽS), which won those elections to the Seimas, also caused damage to the party.

“After the signing of the agreement between the Socdems themselves, there was great discontent. And as a result of all this, G. Paluckas tried very hard to come together, but he did not leave. “The former members of the party and their behavior, which concerns G. Paluckas, is unethical, because then they led the party when these unreasonable decisions were made,” said the interlocutor.

A. Malinovskienė said that the parties could not unite due to internal contradictions.

“It just came to our attention then. Because Mr. Olek’s statement that connecting can be beaversI, for my part, am absolutely against it, in my section everyone is also absolutely against it. There will also be many other chapters. This results in internal disagreement. “Mr. Paluck was right in saying that the past will not return,” said a member of the LSDP.

She was shocked and said she didn’t understand the times Olek wanted to bring the party back, perhaps the ones where they were “very valuable and meaningful.”

“It just came to our attention then. I can only assume that probably a lot of party members will leave,” he predicted.

Interlocutor Delphi He said he had always advocated handing over the helm of the party to the younger generation. She said that “nobody paid by paying”, so they have to learn.

“And that desire to pressure the young and take the initiative over the elderly is not sensible in the best of cases. Because the past will not return and the future will be with the young,” he said.

And what else?

Paluck announced the decision to resign as leader of the party last Friday.

“Thank you for evaluating the election results. I take full responsibility for the results obtained and the situation. To avoid further deterioration of the party’s reputation in the eyes of the public, I decided to resign as party chair,” writes G Paluckas in his address to the LSDP council members.

A. Malinovskienė declared that he did not support the resignation of G. Paluck as party leader, it was not necessary.

“He was accused of being and not being. The man, of course, has taken responsibility, his fault is in a certain percentage. But it is certainly not him who is to blame. In my opinion, he couldn’t quit, ”he said.

According to the representative of the LSDP, A. Malinovskienė, if J. Olekas begins to lead the party, he and the whole party will soon remember old scandals.

“If J. Olekas is there, he will not unite the party. The internal opposition will only increase. He will immediately bring out the” golden spoons. “Will this contribute to the popularity of our party? Will it help to unite the young people who see the future and the Senior parties in a completely different way? Hard hard. I think J. Olekas is not a solution in this situation, “said A. Malinovskienė, member of the LSDP.

He said that Mr. Paluck could continue to serve as party chairman.

“It just came to our attention then. I think it would be a smart plan. Now that he has retired, he will have time to think about everything and prepare for a new stage. Of course, I understand that he may not want to, he was very offended,” he said A. Malinovskienė.

The latest meeting of the LSDP was called an organized attack on Paluck by a member of the Socialist Party.

“I don’t think many sections knew what their president or representative would say at that meeting,” he said.

“I only see Mr. Paluck, but I should think anyway,” he said.

In 2017, G. Paluckas began to lead the party president after defeating the current mayor of Jonava Mindaugas Sinkevičius. The former party leader also did not skimp on last week’s bitter words.

According to A. Malinovskienė, M. Sinkevičius only wants his father, Rimantas Sinkevičius, who also left the LSDP, to be able to return to the game.

“He is with Mr. Olek in the direction he wants in the party of the old order,” he said.

LSDP representative A. Malinovskienė stated that G. Paluck’s decision to step down as party leader will only cause further confusion. But everything can be solved if it reappears. And would probably win

“I think it will cause more confusion than it has so far. And now it should run again, it should win this time. Because the divisions will reconsider everything, those who vote are talking about ordinary party members.” Delphi A. Malinovskienė, representative of the LSDP, presented his opinion.
