The Lithuanians who shone on the turquoise carpet over the weekend made no secret that they had received a lot of attention from the foreign press.
“You know, we had a lot of attention. The good time is that we are truly memorable. Even before we came here, we had a lot of attention and we were very happy with that attention on the turquoise carpet. About 98 percent. the journalists who were there questioned us, filmed us and it is very good, because we are spreading the news about Lithuania more ”, the leader of the group did not hide his smiles.
It is no secret that at the opening of Eurovision, Vaidotas Valiukevičius and his colleagues attracted attention not only for their charismatic energy, but also for their elegant image, which this time was not yellow. Perhaps the most discussed detail in the band’s wardrobe was the shirt-skirt worn by the vocalist.
“A hat or a skirt? On the other hand, what a difference. Our idea was that we wanted to mix clothes with good taste, mix different cultures, because that’s what competition is about, Eurovision is about friendship, cultural friendship. And we did it. We mixed clothes: both were Lithuanian designers and well-known designers abroad. It was a mix of different cultures and developers. And I don’t read the comments. Whoever wrote to me personally, everyone was happy with our choice, because the three of us looked beautiful, ”said V. Valiukevičius.
A colleague added: “We received a lot of comments about the rise of the journalists who spoke to us. They really noticed. Especially Vaidoto’s style. I would say that the response was very good, especially for the skirt ”.
“It just came to our knowledge then. I think maybe some people still look at this strangely. Maybe too much to survive, worry. I would suggest looking at everything more easily. Life is too short and if you live it in anger, you certainly won’t be. better in old age. We are always for the joy and freedom of being ourselves “, Vaidotas joined the discussion again.
It turns out that even outside the stadium, Lithuanian musicians are easily recognizable: Dutch and compatriots who visit or live there ask for personalities.
“We thought we would definitely be tourists abroad, but we are still artists here. <...> We are visible and it is very gratifying ”, the group did not hide.
