“Basically everyone is asking for support, our goal is to see what would look best for that district: there are consultations with our departments working on the ground,” said V. Fyodorov on the criteria on the basis of which support will be expressed in second round of the Seimas elections.
In most single-member constituencies, he said, decisions will be made by individual party divisions. And where the Conservatives compete with the “peasants”, the Labor Party will support the latter.
“If the peasants meet with the conservatives in the district, we will support the peasants,” Fyodorov said.
When asked how the party where only right-wing candidates would meet would behave, he replied that in that case the divisions would make their own decisions.
“There is an individual evaluation here and there are many electoral districts,” said a member of the party presidium.
The second round of the Seimas elections is on October 25. Only two representatives of the Labor Party will participate, Rimvydas Podolskis and Valentinas Bukauskas. The first will compete with the “peasant”, the second – with the candidate of the center-nationalist party, so at least here the “peasants” should receive support.
Conservative leader Gabrielius Landsbergis previously hinted that supporting the “workers” in the second round would be very important in some counties.
