On Wednesday, Triboniai border guard officers from the SBGS Varėna border team reviewed documents from the Volvo FH tractor with a “Kogel” semi-trailer leaving Lithuania for Belarus at the Šalčininkai checkpoint. Both vehicles had Czech numbers on them.
In an administrative infringement case, a fine of € 375 was imposed on a foreigner for driving a vehicle without entitlement. And yet a criminal waits.
The tractor was driven by a 40-year-old Kyrgyz citizen. Among other documents, he presented his country’s driver’s license to border guards. SBGS officials found the document suspected of being forged
Kyrgyzstan was detained by border guards and detained. A pre-trial investigation was initiated in Varėna’s SBGS team regarding forgery of a document or the removal of a forged document. This is punishable by arrest or imprisonment for up to 4 years.
