Vladimiras Ščanycinas of Klaipėda became known to the residents of the port city due to his special illness: shaking hands with him terribly. After receiving help from indifferent people, the man is quick to show off: he is already recovering after the operation and thanks for the sensitive support of strangers.

I couldn’t drink

In early March Klaipeda wrote about this man, considered by many to be a stranger due to his love of varnishing his nails and using many flowers.

The man often asked strangers in the store to deliver the item he had removed from the shelf, because doing so could have done a lot of damage.

Uncontrollable shaking hands did not listen and were able to knock out or even crush the goods. Not everyone understood his behavior.

The 57-year-old man needed help, without his hopes of getting out of debt.

V.Šanyany has had a trembling of hands since he was a child, and lately his hands have been shaking so much that he could not do many things, and most importantly: eat and drink.

The man who lived in a one-bedroom apartment was anxious for the day that he could go to Kaunas, where he was promised to perform the operation. A man who has visited the temporary capital many times, the disabled man is in debt.

Vladimir dreamed of a successful operation to get a job, pay off debts, buy a closet, and repair the home that the authorities provided him.

I have help

The 57-year-old woman needed help, without her hopes of getting out of debt until the end of the century.

V.Ščanycin’s request for help did not go unnoticed on social media. People reacted sensitively to this man’s message and his problems.

In the spring, the team assembled by Mikhail Andrijanov from Klaipeda managed to paint the walls of V. Ščanycin’s apartment.

Another part of Klaipeda residents and people living abroad donated money and paid part of Vladimir’s debt. V.Ščanycin is happy that there is only a third of the money left to give away.

A kind-hearted businessman installed a large wardrobe in this man’s room without reward. V.Ščanycin’s modest apartment acquired a new image, living in it became not only more comfortable, but also more welcoming.

Such unexpected help from benevolent people excites the man incessantly, he often posts changes in his life on his Facebook account, thanks to people he did not know before but who received disinterested help.

During his release from quarantine in late May, V. Ščanycin received a message that his brain surgery would be performed free of charge, and the man was invited to go to the hospital in Kaunas.

The operation, which lasted more than an hour, was successful, V. Ščanycinas felt a change already in the first days after the operation.

The hands no longer tremble, it is easier to speak, the man hopes that life is already changing for the better.

This week, the man went to rehab in Šventoji.

The woman stirred

Valentina de Klaipeda read Vladimir’s story and wept. Her father, who died 15 years ago, had the same disease, suffered the same discomfort, and did not receive adequate treatment.

“Back then it was not known that the tremor could be treated with surgery. If my father had come to these days, perhaps not only his life, but the life of our entire family would have been different,” the woman said.

Like V. Ščanycin, the woman’s father became ill with tremors when he was a minor. He also had to be intimidated and even reprimanded for coming to work hanged.

It was not easy to explain to everyone that this was a manifestation of the disease.

Later, the man noticed that after drinking alcohol, the tremors in his hands decreased for a time, but the next day the symptoms of the disease became even more pronounced.

Valentina did not hide her emotions when saying that in this way a closed circle was formed in her father’s life, the man became addicted to alcohol and finally, at the age of 49, he died suddenly from a ruptured aorta.

“I keep thinking about how good it is that there are people who help complete strangers. After all, Vladimir, who has received help, will help others. This is how it extends,” Valentina is convinced.
