Also, in the garage, SBGS officials still found bottles of moonshine without special tax stamps. The bottles had Smirnoff and Beluga labels. A total of 136 liters of said liquid was retained.
The minibus belongs to a company whose representatives, according to preliminary data, knew nothing about such actions by their driver. VW Crafter was a legal merchant who traded goods and smuggled a garage from Kaunas.
A pre-trial investigation was launched at the SBGS Pagėgiai Border Team regarding the illegal removal of property subject to excise duty. Such an offense is punishable by a fine or imprisonment of up to 8 years.
Border guards suspected the Kaunas resident and released him after questioning. Minibuses, smuggled cigarettes and moonshine are stored at the Pagėgiai border team.
Incidentally, this man was administratively punished about a month ago for illegal smuggling.
