According to the preliminary investigation data, the defendant M.Šaučiūnas referred G.Š. persons who came to the Vilkaviškis district municipality for the reconstruction of buildings or preparation of construction projects, according to a preliminary agreement of mutual agreement, as a presumed architect. draft. It is suspected that M. Šaučiūnas also agreed to prepare projects for these people for a fee.
It is believed that to hide his authorship, M. Šaučiūnas pointed out that the authors and those responsible for the projects are other architects who did not know anything about these projects.
According to the investigation, the defendant received money for this, which was transferred directly or by transfer to G.Š. Bank account.
Continuing with the crime, M. Šaučiūnas, possibly taking advantage of his official position, accepted in writing the prepared forged projects and issued a permit.
During the investigation it was established that two persons related to the defendant M. Šaučiūnas were close relatives, during this pre-trial investigation they attempted to influence the witness to give false testimony. Therefore, they tried to ensure that the suspects M.Šaučiūnas and G.Š. avoid possible criminal liability for abuse of office and falsification of documents.
During the preliminary investigation, a procedural coercive measure was applied against M. Šaučiūnas: the temporary dismissal from his current functions.
The Penal Code establishes that abuse of power is punishable by a fine or imprisonment of up to seven years.
Forgery or possession of a forged document is punishable by a fine, arrest or imprisonment of up to three years.
And trying to influence a witness is punishable by community service, a fine, restriction of liberty, arrest or imprisonment for up to two years.
The criminal case was transferred to the Kaunas Regional Court.
