Mayor of Palanga Šarūnas Vaitkus 15 minutes He said he was very positive about the move.
“The main objective was not only to deliver, but to preserve the building with a unique area of 24 hectares for future generations. If it had been privatized, we have many examples of mistakes by the State in allowing the privatization of a number of infrastructure facilities on the waterfront, which were later converted into apartments, private villas, ”he said.
Currently, the building is rented by a private tenant and the lease is valid for another six months. During this period, the Municipality of Palanga intends to prepare a feasibility study and decide how to use this building.
“Here you could establish a care home for grandparents, you could organize additional education and educational camps for children and young people. Maybe you will use the building for cultural purposes. There are all kinds of possibilities”, – said Š.Vaitkus adding that in half a year it should be clear what will be done with the object.
