The format of the presidential debate in the United States will change: will you decide to turn off the microphones?

According to daily sources at the Commission, several changes are being considered, including the time limit for speaking. In other words, part of an open debate in which candidates have traditionally been encouraged, but certainly not on Tuesday, to argue freely but in a civilized manner.

Candidates currently have two minutes to answer the same question from the moderator and can then answer each other directly. But Trump violated such simple rules many times during the first debate.

According to The New York Times, the impartial presidential debating committee, which has been organizing debates for presidential candidates since 1987, was very disappointed in Tuesday’s event: Trump interrupted both Biden and debate moderator Chris Wallace.

Perhaps the most important change being considered is well known to viewers of political debates in Lithuania. The commission is considering giving the moderator the power to turn off the microphone of a participant who is breaking the rules.

It is true that the debate on such a measure continues to gather momentum. And while social media enthusiastically supports the idea, television may not agree with the microphone. Also, the candidate can continue to speak loudly in the room.

Another proposal is to punish an opponent who interrupts a debate by giving him less time to speak.

“Last night’s debate showed that additional structures must be added to the rest of the debate format to ensure a proper debate. The Commission will carefully consider possible changes and announce them shortly,” announced the Presidential Debate Commission.

The report also praised Fox News journalist Challace, who moderated the debate, although he had just come under fire for allegedly not controlling the situation. The moderator allegedly acted “professionally.”

Although it is the Presidential Debate Commission that sets the ground rules for debate, candidate teams often negotiate extensively on a wide variety of details before agreeing to participate in debate.

The next debate between Trump and Biden is scheduled for October 15 in Miami. It is true that its format will be different: the candidates will answer the questions of the audience. The third discussion is in Nashville, Tennessee, on October 22.

After the first debate, the quality of which many Americans, as polls have shown, were horrified, there were even rumors in the United States that any candidate would refuse to participate in further debates. However, at least Biden’s team immediately ruled out such a possibility.

“Joe Biden will never refuse to speak to the American people,” said Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris.
