The final will take place live
On the last night, all the artists will perform the songs live during the live broadcast. This time there will be no commission on the study. As it will be made up of a larger team of experts in the final, they will watch the performances on the screens and connect to the broadcast remotely.
This year, the National Festival of the Eurovision Song Contest, due to the current situation in the country, is being filmed without spectators and in accordance with strict security requirements, in order to protect both the performers themselves and the team working in the project. Depending on the situation of the pandemic, there are four possible scenarios for Eurovision to occur: normal to remote.
This Saturday will be announced who will represent Lithuania at the Eurovision Song Contest, which will take place from May 18 to 22 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. As in rating programs, the audience and commission votes will be divided equally.
Various scenarios are possible
The European Broadcasting Union, which is organizing the competition, has announced that there are four stages, from concerts at the entire Rotterdam Arena to a “remote” Eurovision show with pre-recorded recordings of the performances. It is true that on Wednesday it was announced that the first scenario, after the spread of COVID-19, has already been abandoned: we will not see the “Eurovision” that existed before this year’s pandemic.
Eurovision organizers announce that they are planning the event according to the second scenario envisaged for the moment. According to this plan, everyone who attends events in the arena must strictly adhere to the established safety distance. The event is said to be open to spectators, but their number will be strictly limited.
However, the third and fourth scenarios have not yet been ruled out. The third option: “Eurovision” will be broadcast from Rotterdam, but we will only see presenters and special guests on stage. National delegations and participants will not travel to the Netherlands and their performances will be prerecorded. It is indicated that in this case the semi-finals and the final on the track would be held without spectators or with a significant reduction in their number.
The fourth option is a virtual “Eurovision” with videos of the artists’ performances. This option is similar to the third, but strictly without spectators who can see the event in the arena.
Those responsible for it will provide more detailed information on the organization of the contest in the coming weeks.
“In this context, our goal is to organize the best possible Eurovision Song Contest. Our main goal is to invite the 41 representatives of the country to Rotterdam to perform on the same stage and to accept journalists who write about the competition. ”Said one of the competition organizers, producer Sietse Bakker.
