Relatives of Milda Bliumenzonienė shared the painful news about the loss of the woman:
“Tonight we lost our beloved Milda Bliumenzonienė after a serious illness. Family members ask for peace, understanding and restraint. We will inform you about the place and time to say goodbye later,” says the woman on her Facebook account.
We recall a previously published interview with a woman:
Milda Bliumenzonienė from Vilnius is one of the founders of the Lithuanian Society for Prison Care (LKGD), which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, and the director of the Prison Rehabilitation Center. The statue of Christopher, also included in the honorable list of the 100 most famous women, compiled on the occasion of Lithuania’s 100th anniversary.
A large group of her friends and acquaintances and hundreds of social media followers enjoy Milda’s ability to enjoy every day. And her peers don’t look jealously at the rare talent of this charming woman: the ability to age gracefully has not gone unnoticed by clothing advertisers and model hunters.
Recently, Ms. Milda has discovered another sincere activity: she writes a blog, a blog that attracts many readers with its insight and sincerity.
“Good for bad”
Members of society visit people in prisons, care for those released, and interact with relatives of prisoners. M.Bliumenzonienė is a member of the Parole Commission. She says that many years of working with imprisoned and lost people, that being “good for bad” has shaped her optimistic worldview, her ability to enjoy life, her gratitude for destiny.
“The soul of the Lithuanian Society for Attention to Prisoners was Monsignor Kazimieras Vasiliauskas, writer Vytautas Girdzijauskas, lawyer Algimantas Dziegoraitis.
My mother Stase was a political prisoner, imprisoned in the Vorkuta camp, she suffered many problems and sufferings, but she remained well, she did not feel angry with people, she knew how to enjoy life. And we, our children, were raised in a spirit of kindness, forgiveness. When I was a young idealist, it seemed like I could do a lot in this society, change the system so that the prison did not cripple people, but became a re-education institution, expectations are revealed by women. – But those changes are only beginning now. I think everyone can make amends. Only maybe they all have different times and conditions. “
According to her, people who have been convicted or served their sentences should not be intervened “under the same umbrella” with the unemployed, the disabled, the retired, the socially disadvantaged, as is the case now. They do not have to be repaired, they can take care of themselves, work, unfortunately, they have besieged shelters and soup kitchens.
“I am tired of that Sisyphus job due to the increasing number of such people. The state must do its job, these people should not roam the streets, he convinced a woman who knows the convicts closely. – Often, an inmate has a family, relatives who also suffer, sometimes even more than the one serving the sentence, and live without guilt. They also need help. “
Unnatural Beauty – Deception
“The most beautiful thing we have is a heart, and how often we think it is a face,” these words from poet and priest Ben Lyre of My Time are very appropriate for Mrs. Milda.
“I don’t think about wrinkles. I use few cosmetics, an unfortunate time to paint, and why fool people? I don’t paint gray hair. Of course, I try to stay in good shape: I go to the gym and the pool every day. Of course, it takes effort to get up at half past six in the morning, but after exercise and the sauna, I’m like a new rebirth every time and I have a long and transparent day.
That’s what gets me out of bed. I don’t understand women who say they can’t find time to exercise or swim, but they do find time to sit in cafes for two hours. Or sitting in front of the television and watching television series without finding time to go to the library to listen to lectures or read books. But on the other hand, it is his choice, everyone knows how to live better for him.
It is true, I no longer buy books, because at home and on the farm they no longer fit on the shelves: I borrow from the Rūdiškės library. I keep reading Vytautas Mačernis, Henrikas Radauskas, and here young contemporary poets don’t hook me: women reveal their hobbies

Ms. Milda does not hide the fact that the longer she works with unhappy and lost people, in the face of their misfortunes and pain, the more she needs to be filled with hope and hope.
“Therefore, I live on this day, I do not complicate the past. Art helps me to fill good emotions and thoughts: exhibitions, concerts, book presentations. I like classical music, opera. I do not miss it when Asmik sings. Grigorian, I like the performance of Irena Milkevičiūtė and Inesa Linaburgytė, I admire Edmundas Seilis, Kristina Zmailaitė, the boys from El Fuego, Jonas Sakalauskas.
I also listen to pop, I like Aistė Smilgevičiūtė and the band Skylė. I go to the theater, but I choose the performances of the old generation of directors, says Milda. – I still don’t have grandchildren because I gave birth to my daughter late at 40. I don’t like it when someone tells me how to behave, if I try I can avoid it.
I never wanted to be like anything or be in someone’s place. Anger at my age is a luxury. And I’m never in a hurry, I don’t even take a trolleybus. “
Ankles change the weather.
At the same time, M.Bliumenzonienė communicated with the residents of the Gerontology Center, admiring the optimism of some of them, their ability to enjoy life.
“You’d be amazed at how many brilliant women live there, how nice it is to communicate with them: They are polite, calculated, they look great, even though they are in a wheelchair.”
I had a girlfriend in that center, I visited her for a few years. What I don’t like the most is the constantly moaning people of respectable age who are moody and sad, they are all bad, I can’t even stand next to you and listen in line at the store. It seems to me that the negative that emanates from them is affecting climate change.
But above all, I like to interact with people. When I get interesting, I don’t run. I have two great friends: happiness and Vaiva, sometimes it seems to us that we can establish the Ministry of Happiness and administer the state. There are many bright-minded people in Lithuania who can give a lot to society, but their potential is not used.
I also like young people, I often interact with them, they come as volunteers for our company. I am fascinated by the vitality, knowledge and ideas of young people. I have many friends among young people. One of them is the poet, priest Ben Lyris.
With pleasure he comes to the communities, he has also come to our center, people love him, listen to him. B. Lyri’s books are profound, they can be read many times, I always find a new depth there, “says M.Bliumenzonienė.
Recently, Ms. Milda participates in the voluntary initiative “Nobody’s Children”: visits children in hospitals that no one visits.
“This activity is very important to me, because I have known for a long time that leaving nobody’s children alone does not experience the most basic feelings. They are rarely sincerely loved, seldom carried away, do not follow fairy tales, do not sing songs of cradle.
Not a single person I met in prison has had that childhood, so I know from testimonies what kind of person grows if they do not experience love.
The women who founded this organization know the situation very well and organize the activities perfectly. Volunteers are selected based on their motivation and trained.
So, in addition to the love for children, we also have a lot of psychological knowledge, psychologists help us if we get tired or lose ourselves. I am proud to be part of this honorable initiative ”, assures the woman.
Will a blog become a book?
Milda’s friends and followers on social media are fascinated by her ideas, which she captures on her blog at life.wordpress.com.
“I remember conversations and bits of thought I heard on the street, on the bus, in the gym, change my mind, and write them down when I get home. This is how my blog “Life in time” was born.
Here I recently wrote a saying that meanness begins where poverty ends. I think that is a correct observation. Menu case: a prisoner, sitting many times, tired, stunned, released after serving another sentence. He has a sister who lives in Ireland and asked him for help because he wanted to recover.
However, the sister refused to help her brother, she replied: “No one helped me, and I will not help him.” That woman had come to Lithuania, I interacted with her and she confessed to me:
“One side seems to want to help him, but the other side is opposed. I remember how hard I worked, I fought until I separated, and I can’t, I don’t want to give him anything.” I made sure that this apparently good woman was accepted by a psychologist. As far as I know, it helped, because the boy went to Ireland and lives with his sister, “says Milda, one of the topics on her blog.
Especially sincere and nostalgic memories of M.Bliumenzonienė about childhood. The woman made a book out of the blog posts, tried to publish it, offered it to dozens of editors, unfortunately no one has been interested in her work so far.

Innate elegance
Young mannequins are experiencing the expiration of their “expiration date” and are struggling to appear young. And here, the charming lady Milda, who turned seventy, is not even trying to hide her age and has no intention of artificially rejuvenating herself. The beauty of this woman is not ruined by wrinkles, as her eyes shine with wisdom and kindness.
She has maintained a great figure, has her own style of dress and good taste. She is one of those few women who adorns clothes, not clothes, her. That is why a woman is invited to work as a model and advertise clothes. Its giant photos adorn its entire height on billboards and supermarkets, while the images adorn fashion and style magazines.
Milda always looks so elegant that there is no doubt that she is dressed by a designer. However, she just screams out loud and says that she chooses the clothes herself. Loves clothes and other natural fiber fabrics. Sometimes she wears a miniskirt that she started wearing over 40.
“I was convinced that my legs were thin and crooked. But once in the studio I measured a mini suit and an unknown man who went there praised my feet. I trusted him and I loved the short skirts. I only wear my pants on a picnic. It would deserve all women, because a woman is more beautiful when wearing a skirt or a dress, “says a woman with a great sense of taste.
From an early age, Milda stood out from her peers because she knitted and dug her own original clothing.
“When Ala Pugacheva gave a concert at the Palacio de los Deportes, I managed to knit a long skirt and a bat sweater for this occasion. I received an invitation, so I sat in the first row, surrounded by the ladies of the time.
But I couldn’t stay there, they were so lavishly inspired that I was forced to go out to the lobby, there and listen to the whole concert, a woman remembers a broken night. “During the Soviet years, my husband and I went to the exhibitions of popular achievements in Moscow, people from the 15 union republics gathered there, and even then the Lithuanians stood out from everyone for their sense of taste, elegance and originality.”
