The family of the famous Lithuanian actress was shocked by the painful news: cancer is waiting for the daughter waiting for the birth of a daughter.

Although the predictions are very sad, the actress and her family do not lose hope and do everything possible to raise the necessary funds for the treatment of her brother.

“When you hear such a diagnosis, you are surprised because you immediately understand what it means. However, when you look at what it is during a diagnosis, then there is an even greater shock, because it is written everywhere that it is incurable and that little is cured.

However, I have read a lot, I was interested, there are few, but few cases where people have managed to cope with this disease and are already living for 7-10 years. Who knows, maybe we will do it too, ”says A. Metalnikova hopefully to her beloved brother.

Feel completely healthy

The news of the cancer struck the young man like lightning in a clear sky. Alexei, who has lived a healthy life, had no harmful habits and was feeling fine in December, heard a diagnosis of a serious illness from doctors over the holidays: He was diagnosed with stage 4 glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer.

“My brother, an athlete, used to work as a personal trainer for a very good club in central London, the clients have always responded very well to him. She has a very positive mentality, always helps everyone, a very good person, sincere, warm, non-smoker, non-drinker. We don’t really understand where that disease came from. It was very difficult for the mother to realize that she could lose her son.

Alexei didn’t feel any symptoms at all. Upon waking up one morning, he noticed that his eyesight had deteriorated so suddenly. At night he went to sleep, everything was fine, he woke up in the morning and realized that he could not see anything, as if he were wearing glasses with strong diopters, everything was like through fog ”, says A. Metalnikova on the painful disaster.

Immediately after feeling ill, Alexei visited an ophthalmologist who diagnosed inflammation of the optic nerve. After visiting several more hospitals and performing an MRI, Alexei heard a diagnosis, after which life seemed to slip under his feet.

“After an MRI, the doctors saw that there was a tumor in the brain. He sent him to a third hospital and there he had already found a brain in his brain and it was quite large, four inches. And the most frightening thing is that this disease is usually detected when it is already in the fourth stage because it is asymptomatic.

If in our case he had not had vision problems, he would not have received medical help. Because the doctors who found the tumor said that if we had found it in three weeks, it simply would not have survived, ”says A. Metalnikova sadly.

Waiting for the family to grow

His brother underwent surgery, but doctors were unable to completely remove the tumor. Doctors do not give the man much hope; Without the necessary treatment, you could survive for only two years.

“After the operation, the doctor said that he was only able to undergo 80 percent of the surgeries. that tumor, and 20 percent. He stayed in an area where it is impossible to reach him. Then he (brother – aut. Past) will remain paralyzed or will simply die. They (doctors – aut. Past) cannot get there in any way. The bad thing is that the tumor can grow back ”, says Aleksandra.

However, Alexei’s desire to live is extremely strong: the husband and wife, who were married a few months ago, are waiting for the family to grow and believe that they will be able to carry the daughter who will have to be born in April for as long as possible. .

Alexander and his family do not lose hope either. According to the woman, this form of brain cancer can be controlled with chemotherapy and radiation therapy, which her brother will start in a few weeks. The man is awaiting investigation in Germany, after which he will receive immunotherapy to combat glioblostoma.

A difficult time cannot be with a wife

The man is currently receiving treatment in the UK, where he has lived for the past few years. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, flights cannot be returned to Lithuania after flight disruptions. Also, at this difficult time for Alexei, no one can visit him because the country is under quarantine.

Even Alexei’s pregnant wife Elena is separated from him – the woman is currently trying to get a visa in Russia. The couple met on a flight, and after getting married and learning that they were waiting for the family to grow up, they planned to start living together.

However, the coronavirus pandemic has dictated its rules: now it is not even clear whether Alexei’s wife will be able to go to Britain as long as it is safe to fly during pregnancy according to the rules.

“If she doesn’t catch up, I’ll probably have to fly, because when chemotherapy starts, she needs someone close by,” says Metalnikova.

Treatment requires a large amount of money

Alexei’s treatment currently requires a large sum of money, from 120,000 to 150,000 euros. According to Alexander, the family does not have that much money, so he turned to all the people of goodwill in his social network, hoping to collect the necessary donations, because that is the last hope of the family.

The woman does not hide the fact that she is always trying to deal with problems on her own, so it was an extremely difficult step to speak about the disaster in the family in public and ask for public help. However, the woman’s cry for help did not go unnoticed; Already at this time, thanks to people of good will, more than 60 thousand euros have been collected for Alexei’s treatment.

“I didn’t expect so many people to sincerely want to help. It was very difficult to decide to take that step and ask for help. To me, this is amazing as far as I get. I am very grateful to the people for their sincere desire to help, ”says A. Metalnikova sensitively.

Does not hide gratitude

According to Aleksandra, the prospects for her brother are really sad, but she does not give up and believes that it is possible to give him the opportunity not only to have a daughter, but also to live another happy year of life.

“With the help of the people, we have already collected 60 thousand. And it has given so much hope that it can happen, that a person can have a chance, if not completely cured, at least have a chance to procrastinate, not win a year or two, although both are said to survive this illness, and maybe a little more.

I can already smile and I see that the opportunity is there and it grows stronger, the people are very helpful, I cried with joy and shock ”, the woman does not hide her gratitude.
