“It just came to our attention then. It is likely that one day we would have noticed,” said V. Chockevičius, who returned from emigration seven years ago and successfully established a farm in the Akmenė district, Gulbinai. This year is one year. Success for a young man who grows in the summer and programs websites in the winter The farm is growing, and after a successful debut in the popular program “Lietuvos rafts”, there are more invitations to present this summer.
“Everything is fine, the quarantine is over, the concerts will begin.” This year there will be practically everyone in Lithuania ”, the young man was happy.
The President’s stay was long.
The President arrived in Gulbinus after a day of work in the Akmenė region. The first couple became a one-street town with an abundant escort. After seeing so many men in costumes and a police car, the Chockevičius boys initially humbled themselves. However, G. Nausėda soon found a connection to five-year-old Vykintas and kicked the ball.

Laima and Vladas Chockevičiai showed the farms to the first couple, told the story of the KasMes farm and treated them with their products.
“They stayed longer than planned. I have the impression that they enjoyed our time in our town,” said the farm owner.
According to him, there was no shortage of conversation and the meeting left a great impression.
Holidays have become life
V. Chockevičius emigrated to Great Britain with his parents and brothers when he was thirteen years old. There he completed his programming studies and met his beloved Laima, who came from the Žagarė region. The couple remembered how they kept coming back to the village while living abroad. Until one day they thought together why the feeling of vacation could not accompany a lifetime. Thus, after nine years in England, the Chockevičiai returned to Lithuania. They have been looking for a farm for a long time where they would feel good. Gulbinai and the wooden house near Akmenė became the new houses.

“We liked the wooden house, it was like history,” L. Chockevičienė told First Lady D. Nausėdienė. The young farmers soon learned that the family that had lived here before was virtuous, living very well together.
V.Chockevičius recalled that friends about plans to settle in the Lithuanian countryside were cautiously received by friends. But soon he saw that they were doing well and began to support.
Now young farmers also interact with villagers, celebrating the holidays together.
In the plans – a mill
The family currently owns more than six hectares of arable land planted with cereals and 3 hectares of meadows.
There are now 11 French alpine goats on the KasMes farm. Of these, milk, which is characterized by being greasy, highly nutritious, farmers produce fermented cheeses. Milk does not boil, it only heats up to 40 degrees. Such a cheese is called raw milk cheese, which retains all the properties of milk.
The Chockevičiai still raise a flock of chickens.
The family planted the fields with Spelta wheat, and also grows the old single-grain Einkorn wheat. Chockevičius hopes to receive support for the purchase of a new Austrian slow-grinding stone factory. Until now, the family has ground grains with a domestic mill.

“Our economy is a short link between us and our customers. We do not go to the supermarkets, or we bring them or send them ourselves, or the buyers come to ourselves,” said the interlocutor.
The beans are grown without chemical fertilizers, naturally. “It just came to our attention then. That it was complicated is a thing of the past. It is difficult for a small farm to establish itself, everything else can be overcome,” said the farmer.
During quarantine: more buyers
The Chockevičius family did not queue before the quarantine was announced in shopping malls with large transports. The family eats what they grow themselves.
During the quarantine, the couple noticed more attention from buyers. They still wanted organic flour. “The problem was ‘clogged post offices,'” laughed V. Chockevičius, recalling a period of a couple of months.

V.Chockevičius did not hide: the KasMes farm is not yet so profitable that it can support the whole family. After graduating from programming, a man leans toward a computer in cold weather: he creates websites, his wife makes crafts.
In the summer, V. Chockevičius, who founded the group Mėnulio fazė, will give a concert. His wife was also involved in music: she created the lyrics for the songs and created the album cover.
