The author of the blog “Sumani mama”, the midwife Marija Mizgaitienė, who was unexpectedly found at the scene, was the only witness who tried to help the injured girl and provided her with initial qualified help. After sharing a painful story, you want to warn other parents that this entertainment could end up very sad.
“We get to one of the biggest inflatable trampolines, the children are laughing here, the trampoline is moving in all directions and at the bottom lies an 8-year-old girl. Dad is distracted next door, tries to get her off the trampoline.
I realize that something happened. I ask him what happened, he just says “fell” and keeps dragging her. I tell him that I am a doctor and that the girls better not move. He, in a panic, continues to pull her. In a strict tone, I tell him to take care of the child, that he has to call an ambulance. I sit next to the girl, I speak and I do not leave the station, she has a lot of fear in her eyes, she says that she cannot even move because her back hurts a lot.
The boys run on the same trampoline, the trampoline moves and causes the girl even more pain. I try to ask the children to get off the trampoline; they don’t listen, I try to ask the parents to take the children away; They don’t seem to listen, please at least don’t let the other kids get on the trampoline. – and again like the wall. Until finally I raise my voice and tell everyone to come down slowly, and I shout to everyone who comes that it is not possible here.
I feel hugging the girl, I no longer see my daughter, hugging anxiety, but I can’t get up until the ambulance arrives, I have to fix her head.

Help came very quickly, he put on a splint and placed the boy on a stretcher. I was distracted for a few minutes looking for a daughter. She was by the way, I just didn’t see her. Adrenaline does its thing, ”M. Mizgaitienė shared the story on his account after the event.
She assured that as a doctor, although not a traumatologist, she knew that it was on trampolines that children suffered very serious injuries. However, as long as you are not in close proximity, do not assess the threat.
“Trampolines are a very dangerous hobby. And if the child is already jumping on them, he should know at least the basic safety rules, – warned M. Mizgaitienė and said what to do in case of accident: – If the child fell from a height higher than his height, do not move and don’t let anyone else move, you’ve likely suffered a high-energy injury. If you are in a situation where an accident has occurred, ask if you need help. No one asked us – sad. And lastly, learn how to provide first aid because a disaster can strike at any time. Well, of course, call an ambulance at 112. “

He knows about the disaster
Kęstutis Nausėda, the commercial manager of the Big Dragon trampoline park who travels in Lithuania, said by phone that he knew about the accident in Kaunas and said it was the first disaster all summer.
“Yes, we know about the incident, the ambulance took the girl with back pain. I told my parents to let us know if it would be bad, but we got nothing, “he said.
A representative of the trampoline park assured that their trampolines were certified and built in accordance with all the necessary requirements. However, according to him, this alone will not protect against disaster: children and injuries can cause injuries anywhere, so care must be taken.
“We ask parents to take care of their children themselves so that they get on the trampolines one by one and not climb on top of each other. We have signs on the trampolines that indicate that children under 12 must be cared for by their parents. We also limit the age so that younger children do not ride large trampolines. If parents still take care of the little ones, the older ones tend to run unattended. From time to time, park staff ask parents to take extra care of their children. However, we will not control everything here with such warnings, “said K. Nausėda.

According to him, it would be impossible to park the caretakers of each trampoline: there are eight trampolines in total and only three or four people work in the entire park. They supervise the order in the large trampolines, and the children, for the little ones, are completely harmless, assured the interlocutor.
According to him, there are not too many children on trampolines either. “Every day we have 100 to 200 children in the trampoline park, but when they are distributed throughout the day, it does not come out as much. If we see that there are too many children, then we try to allocate time to jump on the trampolines accordingly, ”said K. Nausėda and once again emphasized that the parents themselves should be responsible for the safety of the children.
