Prime Minister S. Skvernelis, who observed the elections at the party headquarters, left the headquarters just before R. Karbauskis commented on the election results and did not comment to journalists on his performance and that of the party.
“He’s already gone,” R. Karbauskis replied when the prime minister left.
When asked how he reacted to the defeat in the single-member Pilaitė-Karoliniškoms district, R. Karbauskis replied that he was happy.
“Did you hear how much joy there was? A lot, ”said the peasant leader with a smile.
In the second round of the Seimas elections, S. Skvernelis lost the battle in the Pilait-Karoliniškės single-member electoral district to the conservative candidate, Seimas member Radvile Morkūnaitė-Mikulėnienė.
R. Karbauskis also stated that he was not embittered by the blessing that “he has nothing to complain about.”
“If we don’t need the carriage we carry, life will be easier for everyone,” he replied.
“It is not a bad result for a party that has resisted such a propaganda attack for four years to win thirty-several seats and to be able to resist such an attack in the center-left elections. “Not many people expected us to have that many members,” he replied.
According to preliminary data from the Central Election Commission, the ruling Lithuanian Green and Peasant Union will have 32 representatives in the Seimas.

Karbauskis – after defeat: admitted mistakes had been made
When it became clear that the Conservatives had won the Seimas elections and could form a coalition with the Liberals, party leader R. Karbauskis claims that it is impossible to avoid mistakes, they were. He claimed to admit defeat and congratulated the Conservatives on the victory.
“It is impossible not to make mistakes. If I start scattering my head with ashes, I couldn’t tell why I or our group should disperse. We work with great honesty ”, says R. Karbauskis.
He noted that there were no such things as “no corruption scandals in previous governments” and the like.
“He has been talking for half a year about a road or something that serves thousands of people, not just one,” says R. Karbauskis.
The peasant magician admitted that he had lost the elections: “We have no initiative to form a ruling majority.”
He couldn’t answer what voters would have disliked: “I don’t know, apparently everyone chooses the way they want.”
Karbauskis on the ruling majority: “It won’t be easy for them”
R. Karbauskis did not answer in which position he could work in the Seimas, but pointed out that it will not be easy for the ruling people.
“The coalition negotiations must end, then it will be clear who and what he looks like. We had the opportunity to work with sixty-several members of the Seimas, 68 if I’m not mistaken. If the ruling majority is made up of seventy-several members of the Seimas, it will not be easy for them, ”says R. Karbauskis.
He said that he had already called Gintautas Paluckas and was surprised that an equal number of votes had been cast on the single member, so he expected the votes to be counted.
“If there is something to negotiate, it is the coalition or the opposition, we will probably negotiate it tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.”
Kaunas voted unequivocally for the Conservatives. But in general, the center-left with the conservatives, with the right, have almost similar voices ”, says R. Karbauskis.
