According to data provided by the Department of Statistics on Thursday morning, 4,572 people recovered last day. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 123,889 people have been infected by COVID-19, 61,553 people are currently suffering from coronavirus infection, and 60,559 have recovered.
Since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, a total of 1,186 people have died in Lithuania and 591 people have died from other causes.
To date, a total of 1,559,023 samples have been tested for suspected coronavirus.
The government extended the quarantine until January 31. and it toughened its measures: prohibit circulation within or outside the municipality of residence for unnecessary reasons, close stores other than food, prohibit contact services, prohibit events and public meetings.
Starting December 15. Until January 3, the departure of people outside the territory of the municipality of their place of residence is restricted, except in cases of death due to the death of close relatives, to work when their place of residence is in another municipality, or for assistance necessary medical.
In a remote meeting on Sunday night, the government decided to ban passenger flights from the United Kingdom (United Kingdom) to Lithuania from December 21 to 31. The decision is based on a new strain of coronavirus spreading in the UK.
