By judgment of the Court of First Instance, three cousins were found guilty of the murder of I. Strazdauskaitė in Plungė in 2017, two robberies, destruction of property and illegal imprisonment. The court sentenced Leon Bieliauskas to life imprisonment, Karolis Bieliauskas to 17 years and Mantas Bieliauskas to 16 years in prison.
Algimantas Stankevičius from Marijamp and Tomas Zagurskas from Kėdainiai were also convicted in this case. They are punishable by two years and two months and two years in prison, respectively, for participation in theft, illegal possession and use of a firearm.
In a complaint filed with the Court of Appeal, the prosecution requests that T. Zagurskas be sentenced to four years in prison and A. Stankevičius to four years and two months in prison.
The parents, sister and ex-girlfriend of I. Strazdauskaitė, who were recognized as victims in the case, also request to impose maximum penalties on two of the three defendants and impose a total of 400 thousand. compensation for moral damage.
According to Marius Liatukas, the lawyer representing the victims, the guilt of the murder was common to all convicts and the first court incorrectly assessed the amount of non-pecuniary damage.
The Kaunas Regional Court jointly awarded 4,510 euros in material damages to the parents of the murdered girls of the three cousins and 30,000 euros each. 15,000 euros for each moral damage and 15,000 euros for each sister and fiancé of the murdered. for moral damage.
