On Sunday, the Lithuanian Basketball League (LKL) announced around 1 pm that after conducting COVID-19 tests before the game, a case was registered at the Rytas club.
The match, which was supposed to take place in Vilnius at 5pm on Sunday, was immediately postponed.
After COVID-19 tests for the Vilnius team “Rytas” before Sunday’s game, a positive case of coronavirus was found in him. The planned Betsafe-LKL showdown between Rytas and Kaunas Žalgiris will not take place on March 21. It is postponed to a later date, which will be announced later, ”announced LKL.lt.
It was supposed to be the third meeting between teams this season. Kaunas residents won both meetings with certainty. In the first match, the Žalgiris people beat the Rytas basketball players in Vilnius 84:72, and at home they mercilessly crushed the biggest differences in the history of the matches played against each other: 92:45.
However, now the situation of the clubs has changed. The basketball players of “Rytas” have achieved up to 12 wins in a row, and the representatives of the Kaunas club are slipping in the Euroleague and have lost the last three games. Therefore, Vilnius residents would have had a particularly good chance of winning.
