Smart technologies for construction management

According to Ieva Salmela, Hesburger’s Director of International Development, the transition to remote project management did not allow construction to stop and proceed according to plan, even under extremely difficult conditions.
“The pandemic and quarantine have severely restricted and even suspended travel opportunities, but the latest construction management technologies have allowed the project to continue and be monitored online. They have been applied in their work by project management partners, the Lithuanian company UAB Incorpus, which has already implemented many projects of large European companies.
The online platform brought together the entire project team, who were able to plan, share tasks, and track project progress in real time. All of this made it possible not to deviate from the construction schedule, not be late and avoid losses, ”said I. Salmela.

According to her, the logistics center will start operating early next year and the sauce factory a little later in the first half of the year. Investments in this project will reach 15 million. euros.
Prepare for the installation of production equipment and search for new employees
According to the Hesburger press release, Virginija Baršauskienė, a longtime employee of the Hesburger network who has served as the director of the Kaunas region for the past few years, has been appointed director of the new plant.
“Since the construction of the factory buildings and the logistics center is almost complete, we are already starting the organizational work. Production equipment from the US and Europe will arrive at the plant by the end of the year and will be installed and adjusted.
The plant will be distinguished by its high automation, so it is planned to house up to 20 people in total. Currently, three employees are already working here, and we will soon carry out a greater selection of new employees, ”said V. Baršauskienė, director of the plant, about the closest plans.
The factory in the Kaunas district will produce mayonnaise and other sauces for the Hesburger restaurant chain, around 1000 tons per year. So far, all Hesburger sauces have been produced in Finland and the new factory in Lithuania will help supply them to restaurant chains in neighboring countries.
