According to A. Petrošius himself, members of all Seimas factions can speak on behalf of the entire faction, but this requires powers. Political groups have the right to request a pause in the discussion of certain topics, and this can be done with the consent of 1/5 of the members of the Seimas.
However, according to the Conservative, another member of the Joint Group, Vytautas Bakas, noted that no proposal had been made to consider postponing the correction of communicable diseases in the Joint Group, which would mean that R. Žemaitaitis could have addressed the Seimas on behalf of the faction without their authority.
“Decisions are needed due to the very irresponsible and possibly illegal behavior of R. Žemaitaitis,” said A. Petrošius.
He does not consider that such a proposal could have been based on repeated technical disturbances at Thursday’s meeting. According to the curator, a pause on this topic was proposed before the start of major technical problems.
“When the rupture was requested, we have not encountered such massive interruptions and, in any case, it does not give the right to assume the mandate of the faction,” Eltai assured A. Petrošius, adding that he himself did not experience any technical problems during the remote meeting.
A. Petrošius does not rule out the possibility that his colleagues at Seimas have not experienced any technical problems.
Finally, A. Petrošius does not rule out the fact that some members of the Seimas may have tampered with that they are experiencing technical problems and are supposedly unable to work properly remotely.
“There are rumors that remote meeting work is unacceptable and there is a never-ending desire to get back into the House. Therefore, it is convenient to rule out that some people behave in a special way. Maybe there are no glitches, maybe no button is pressed or the camera won’t turn off. These are simple little mistakes “, – considered A. Petrošius, a member of the Seimas of the TS-LKD faction.
ELTA recalls that even before the discussion of the agenda items, a dispute arose in the Seimas on Thursday regarding the organization of remote plenary sessions. Some members of the opposition factions, after suspending the work of the Seimas for almost an hour due to technical problems, suggested returning to the Seimas hall on Thursday and sitting down live, but the president of the Seimas, Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen, categorically rejected such proposals. However, finally, the evening session of the Seimas was suspended the same day.
