The COEC has completed an investigation into the circumstances of the paving of Skvernelio Street

“We are planning to have a meeting this Thursday. The research material will be considered and there should be some solution,” Eglė Ivanauskaitė, a service representative, told BNS.

According to E. Ivanauskaitė, the meeting will be held remotely. The COEC plans to inform you later on Monday how it will be monitored.

Due to the financial circumstances of the upės street asphalt in the Vilnius district, the ethics guards began the investigation in mid-December of last year, in March of this year the investigation period was extended for another three months.

The study assesses whether the Prime Minister was not obliged to resign when the Government allocated additional funds for the management of the streets of the municipality of the Vilnius district in late October this year.

At the end of October, when redistributing the reserve funds of the Highway Maintenance and Development Program, the Government allocated 300 thousand. The municipality allocated additional funds to the Vilnius district, although this municipality had not submitted any specific request, nor had it indicated the amount requested.

According to the 15min.lt portal, all this amount is destined to asphalt – one – Up –s Street. The head of the government with his family lives on this street.

President Gitanas Nausėda urged the Head of Government to apply to the COEC regarding the circumstances of the allocation of asphalt funds on Upig Street, in the village of Smigliai, Vilnius district.

He said it was the findings of the ethics watchers that would determine his approach to the head of government.
