The sons of Tadas Karosas, one of the richest businessmen in Lithuania, Goda and Jonas, say that their father taught him how to work and earn from an early age, he did not give children money with an easy hand. But Dad never saved money for the children’s education.
Goda Karosaitė was sent to study at a girls’ boarding school in southern France as a teenager, and her brother Jonas studied in the United States.

“I got on a plane 12 or 13 years ago and flew to the United States. I had to learn everything again. In Lithuania, my mother did everything, and in the United States I had to make my own food, wash my clothes, organize myself. I grew up very fast, ”says Jonas Karosas.

“We didn’t even want to go to these boarding schools when we were kids, but you can say that Dad just rejected us because he wanted us to see the world, learn languages, independence,” says Goda Karosaitė.
However, both sons of Tadas Karos admit that such life experiences have hardened them, according to a LNK press release.
Singer and businessman Žilvinas Žvagulis raised three children. Admittedly, he now regrets the fact that he didn’t spend much time with his two older sons, Oak and Rytis in his youth, because there were constant tours and concerts.
“I don’t wish that image on anyone when you go to a concert and see your son with tears running down his cheeks,” says the singer.
On the show, he talked about how they brought their first child, who grew up in England, to Lithuania.
“I saw them lean towards the restaurant and bar business, so I bought them a bar and gave them control. I was a sponsor, but I allowed them to freely manage the money. Now I think I made too much money because both bars had to close. “
Other program participants, father and son, Kazimieras and Domas Jakučiai, revealed an unusual family business rule. Kazmier once founded a mattress-making business, which is now run by his son Domas, and the other three children have separate divisions.
The founder of the company taught his children to never confuse family and business.
“The children are already married, they have children, but we have the rule not to invite the wives to join the business. It usually ends badly: you lose the employee and you get mad at the other half”, – Kazimieras Jakutis will tell a story Thursday night, at 8 pm, on the LNK program “Hour with Rūta”.
