At the end of June, the 1660-square-meter beach was poured into the part of Lukiškės square near Gediminas avenue, about 300 cubic meters of sand were used for that, sun loungers and hammocks were built, and a volleyball court was made.

The public and politicians hotly debated this decision, with critics saying that the project was not suitable for Lukiškės Square and criticizing the fact that neither the public nor the city council or administration had been consulted during the planning of the project.

In response to the beach, the Seimas passed a special law on Lukiškės Square, which states that it is the main representative square of the country with the Vytis Monument.
