The robot named after Albert is an exclusive work of the Estonian company SprayPrinter Technologies. The robot can implement large and small works of art on various surfaces. It is because of Albert’s versatility that Estonian artists have been invited to join the implementation of “Remember the Borders” at Merkinė, according to a press release.
The biggest work since the beginning of “Sienos reminimena” is planned in the city of Dzūkija. The project is funded by the Lithuanian Council of Culture. The project is executed by the Merkinė Region Museum and the public institution “Kiaurai sienas”.
A drawing dedicated to the historical memory of the Merkinė Jewish community will be implemented in a particularly significant place: on the facade of the old Klois synagogue. Albert’s technical capabilities will allow the work to be implemented in a completely different way than previous “Walls Remember” projects.
“We are very happy to use Alberta for this job. New technical possibilities make it possible to create a completely different work in Merkinė, which will stand out not only among the “Wall Remembers” projects, but also across the entire spectrum of Lithuanian street art. If it weren’t for the enthusiasm and support of the Merkinė Museum, all of this would have been a dream, ”says Lina Šlipavičiūtė-Černiauskienė, author of the idea and director of Kiaurai Sienas.
Artists from Lithuania and Estonia and of course Albertas will be working at Merkinė on Tuesday morning.
