Those victims include famous names: a famous influencer and a no less well-known mannequin who went to the police for help; He had also sent intimate photos and videos to the scammer.
The Vilnius Regional Court has already started examining the eighth criminal case against R. Butkevičius: the officers who carried out the pre-trial investigation attracted several dozen people as victims. Most of them are girls who have dreamed of a modeling career. True, among the victims there are also people to whom R. Butkevičius promised to sell a car, a charger, vacuum cleaners. Another girl was injured when the scammer was allowed to use her bank account, to which the victims transferred money for cars and other property that had not been purchased.
The court decided to hear the criminal case in private hearings; the aim is to protect the privacy of victims who sent intimate videos to R. Butkevičius.
The officers who carried out the pre-trial investigation established that R. Butkevičius was suspected of having committed the crimes while incarcerated at the Pravieniškės prison. Although convicts are prohibited from having mobile phones and using the Internet, many times the convicted offender has not been arrested: the man has been committing crimes for several months. And when the criminal case was started, the prisoner presented the characterization to the court, which was delivered to him … by the administration of the Pravieniškės Correctional Center.
The leaders of the prison, who did not prevent the crimes of the continuously fraudulent prisoner, told the court that R. Butkevičius is calm, discreet, participates in resocialization and various social activities. Although the convicted person committed new offenses using a mobile phone, the leaders of the Pravieniškės area noted in the characterization that R. Butkevičius had not violated the rules of internal procedure, thus characterizing himself positively.
Such a feature should have come as a considerable surprise to the victims of R. Butkevičius; After all, the prison administration was responsible for the convicted person being punished for crimes and no more crimes, as well as not using a mobile phone, if his prisoner had not done so, he would not have been able to deceive the victims.
According to the case data, R. Butkevičius was looking for his victims on Facebook – in various groups, where information about the job he was looking for was published, after finding accounts of attractive girls, the man wrote messages to them. It is true, they did not appear in their own name, they even concealed that there was a man; some of the girl’s messages came from a girl named Rosalie.
R. Butkevičius, who made contact with strangers, mentioned the exceptional opportunity to win from 900 to 5,000. euros. The man promised to pay the girls this money for intimate photos and a short video in which they were to be filmed completely naked.
R. Butkevičius told the girls that their photos and videos will be posted on Internet portals in the United States and the United Arab Emirates and will not be visible to visitors to Lithuania.

But it was a lie: as soon as the girls sent photos and videos, R. Butkevičius revealed his true intentions. “Now you will have to work as a prostitute and go serve the men, and you will have to give me the money you received,” she wrote to the girls.
None of those officially recognized as victims agreed with such demands from R. Butkevičius, for which they received threats: Rozali wrote that she would reveal the received images not only to the girls’ friends and relatives, but also on Facebook and various pornographic sites. .
“I receive photos of girls like you and I can share them with all your friends, on Facebook, etc., I have all your friends; if I block it won’t help, but you can always agree not to; think before you do something ”, wrote R. Butkevičius to the strong influencer.
“Now you are screwed and you will have to do everything I tell you, because otherwise your photos will be made public in the electronic space”, R. Butkevičius also wrote to another girl that she will have to meet men for money. When she disagreed, the man threatened to make his photos public and then meet up and commit suicide. When the girl did not speak, the famous prisoner from Pravieniškės called the girl and asked her to return to work as a prostitute and to give her all the earnings.
However, even then the girl did not accept these requirements, so during the following interview, R. Butkevičius offered the victim an alternative offer: “If you do not want the photos to be made public, you have to pay me 4,500 euros and provide the login details of your Facebook account “.
The girl did not come to speak, she did not intend to work as a prostitute or pay money for not revealing photos, so soon R. Butkevičius sent the erotic photos sent by the victim to her Facebook friends.
Other girls did not pay money to R. Butkevičius for the non-disclosure of photos, so the man posted photos and videos of some of them not only in the group “Erotic Damules” of the chat application “Discord”, but also in other Internet groups. , which included the girls’ friends.
At that time, a video of the popular influencer was posted on a popular worldwide porn video site, and the girl’s name was added to the video. An intimate video shot by another victim was also posted on this site.
When the girls found out that R. Butkevičius had posted the videos and photos for which they had been promised money on the Internet, they turned to the police officers for help. It was not easy to identify who committed these crimes – officials had to contact both the social media company and the administrators of the porn site.

At the time, the police were investigating other crimes: Several people turned to officials for help, who were attracted by the information posted in the ads and wanted to buy cheaper cars, vacuum cleaners and other products. During the investigation, it became clear that a girl had allowed R. Butkevičius to use her bank account, which received money paid by the victims for the property. The victim told officials that Telegram had one day received an offer to work for a legal company, promising that he would be paid only for access to a bank account and for providing login details for online banking.
When R. Butkevičius was found to have misled the buyers, he immediately returned the money paid. The convict in this manner is apparently trying to mitigate responsibility and is likely to seek the lightest possible sentence.
Until now, R. Butkevičius, who was imprisoned in Pravieniškės, had to be released after two years, but in the criminal case currently being examined in court for fraud and human trafficking, he faces up to ten years in prison. .
R. Butkevičius began his “career” as a scammer while still studying at school, was first convicted in 2010, and since then the number of people affected by him has increased in criminal cases. In 2011, he was charged with committing more than 250 crimes when he fraudulently seized the property of more than 70 residents of Panevėžys and other cities and districts of the country.
Crime investigators found that R. Butkevičius, introducing himself under fictitious girl names, tempted his colleagues on social media to win for a supposedly scarce service: lending a bill and their codes. People who did not suspect anything wrong later felt uncomfortable, as the scammers took quick loans on behalf of the victims and spent the money received on entertainment and gambling.
It’s unbelievable, but R. Butkevičius did not stop cheating even after the agents who initiated the investigation seized his computer, and he again succeeded in committing the crime just half an hour before the judicial decision on his arrest was announced.
In another case, it was established that R. Butkevičius had met online women who craved warm feelings, who were so impressed with the virtual lover that they even gave him facts about online banking without even considering it. When a man asked for quick loans on behalf of women, he stopped communicating with his victims.
And two years ago, a criminal case was tried in court, in which R. Butkevičius was convicted of fraud in cryptocurrency trading. R. Butkevičius, who posted the ad on the internet, received a call from a man, who later paid 3,500 euros for the Litcoin cryptocurrency scammer Antminer Lr3 +. This money was helped to collect from the prisoner by his friend, who was a fugitive.
In court, R. Butkevičius denied cheating in a correctional home and also explained that he did not have access to a mobile phone or the Internet, and that other inmates may have cheated on his behalf. In addition, he pointed out that the girl who charged at the ATM was his ex-girlfriend, so he was saddened by giving her a favorable testimony.
“I met this girl while I was in prison, she had visited me many times, but our relationship was broken on my own initiative, so now she can get back at me for rejecting her,” said R. Butkevičius.
