According to the member of Seimas, it is necessary to evaluate the procedure for direct elections of mayors and the regulation of public electoral commissions during municipal elections. It is expected that in the spring the Constitutional Court is expected to receive an explanation on the compliance of direct mayoral elections with the Constitution.

“When we talk about the electoral system of the Seimas, we think that the time has come to discuss, in a generally normal way, whether the mixed electoral system meets the expectations of society,” said the MP.
According to him, conservatives believe that the transition to higher proportional representation in the Seimas should be discussed in more detail, as the boundaries of single-member electoral districts must be redrawn before the constant change in the number of voters before each election. parliamentary. .
