I rushed to break my burning clothes and panicked for the help of a man not understanding what was going on. As I ripped off my jacket, I realized that the fire had also spread to my pants, which I seem to have started to extinguish by hand. I don’t remember exactly, “says Ilona.
I saw that my jacket pocket was already burning with an open flame. I rushed to tear my clothes on fire. I did not understand what was happening.
It turns out that a phosphorus pebble was found among the amber found on Ilona. According to the woman, it looked quite amber, just a little dirty, like it was covered in dirt.

Due to this lit little pebble, Ilona suffered a second degree burn. Two toes on his left hand burned and his jeans burned a bit.
“The scare was much greater than the loss. Burned clothes and burned toes, little paws. But it’s a laugh, to think about what it might have been like if we had been on the road at that moment and we couldn’t suddenly jump, react quickly. And if “amber” had been in the trouser pocket … And if it had been bigger … Now I understand that we were very lucky! “- says I. Pakeltė.

In this situation, the woman was very disappointed in the doctors: when she called the Klaipeda ambulance, she could not help anyone.
“When we realized that I had burned a very dangerous chemical element, we called 112 to find out what to do in that case. We did not know whether to go to the Klaipeda Hospital to wash the wounds, or to go to Vilnius “calm down” … They said: “Wait, let’s go”.
When I arrived and saw that I had not burned half of my body, I said with a smile on my face that I could not help anyone. The doctor did not examine or help normally.
