Leaving promised a quick return

What could have happened to 19-year-old Viktorija Kulčiūnaitė, who lived in the apartment building on P. Lukšio Street together with her grandparents and disappeared without a trace, and who has so far been unsuccessfully searched by police officers ?

Last Friday, forensic officers from the Kaunas County Police Station, which specializes in searching for missing persons, came to his aid.

Officials do not disclose their working methods, but it is clear that the girl’s fingerprint is being proven by analyzing her cell phone records, connections to operator base stations, use of mobile data, visualization of video recordings and questioning of witnesses.

Kėdainiai’s grandfather, who disappeared, told the Delfi portal on Monday morning that the granddaughter had not appeared, there is no information about her fate yet.

V. Kulčiūnaitė, who has lived with her grandparents since she was little, left the apartment building on P. Lukšio Street on the afternoon of 23 May. The girl took her phone, told the housewives that she would meet a friend who lived nearby, and promised to return in a couple of hours.

Police did not receive public assistance

The Kėdainiai resident, who disappeared unknowingly, has not studied or worked recently. Her grandmother said that her granddaughter had gone to work in Germany some time ago, but returned shortly after facing difficulties.

“He worked in a meat factory for three days and got sick, the temperature went up. Jinai is small, too difficult to move heavy boxes. I advised her not to get tired and go home, ”said the missing girl’s grandmother.

The woman hinted that before leaving for Germany, the granddaughter already had experience working in a meat processing factory. She worked for a company in the suburbs of Kėdainiai for some time, but this job was not for a girl.

Could it be that the young Kėdainiai decided to go to another city or state without saying anything to her relatives? Due to the fate of her granddaughter, the surviving grandmother does not believe it because her identity documents were left at home.

“It just came to our knowledge then. How many were called, how many dispersed, no one knows or saw anything. The bride he went out to meet also lies, saying that he has not seen anything. But it is not possible for a person to take and look evaporate, ”said a Kėdainiai resident, who was waiting for information about her granddaughter for the second week.

Although the report on the missing girl and her search was circulated through police channels, Kaunas County Police Chief Commissariat spokeswoman Odeta Vaitkevičienė said that this time no more meaningful information had been received from the public.

The phone worked close to home

V. Kulčiūnaitė’s grandmother hoped that the Kaunas County Police Chief Commissariat officers who contacted her last Friday would be able to determine with whom her granddaughter had been reunited. This could become the end of the proposal, helping to unravel the extraordinary story. Kėdainiai hinted that the police had promised to review additional video surveillance camera recordings and hoped this would help advance the investigation.

“The Kaunas police officers hinted to me that her phone was working in the same area where we live, somewhere nearby. It was turned off later,” the woman said.

He said she was a granddaughter who had stayed with friends for a long time before, but always reported where she was and when she would return. Or they answered the phone call the next day. For a girl to disappear without warning for so long has never happened before.

“I came back from work on Monday (May 24 – ed.). My grandfather said he tried to call me, but she doesn’t answer the phone. I told the parents we contacted the police. Grandpa kept calling and calling, no one answered , although at the same time a busy signal sounded. And on Tuesday from 7:30 pm, it has already turned off, “said the woman.

The girlfriend of the missing girl, who spoke with the Delfi portal, assured that not answering the phone was an atypical behavior. He said that he had not put down his mobile phone, that he was in constant correspondence with someone.
