He said he had received a message from a Raseiniai resident:

“At the V.Petkus school, food rations were distributed to first graders and preschoolers for 2 weeks. One of the items in the ration that sparked an argument among parents: a box (120 pcs. = 1.2 kg) of mayonnaise, which expires on February 1, 2021. After the publication of the record, A. Nekrošius stated that he had received several dozen similar complaints. According to him, several fundamental problems prevail.

The largest number of complaints were received about the food provided by the Raseiniai Viktoras Petkus basic school.

When asked why food packages are not labeled, he said that quantities of food are bought in large quantities and distributed, and its quality should be evaluated by the relevant services.

He also assured that the school will take action in the event of direct complaints.

So far everyone has praised

Two more schools were reprimanded by their parents: Girkalnis Basic School in Raseiniai District and Simonas Stanevičius Gymnasium in Viduklė.

They are fed by the same company – UAB Gaileta.

The school didn’t really receive any complaints directly.

“In the past, about five, four years ago, we had entire complaints from parents about food on the gym council, and so on, and now we don’t have any, that’s a true indicator,” he emphasized. He assured that if parents communicate directly with the school, solutions will be sought.

Danutė Jocienė, the secretary of the Girkalnis Basic School, spoke in a similar way: that no one applied for the school.

“The school has not received any complaints directly, nobody is registered and I really cannot comment on anything,” he said. “Last time I was happy with the portions and the response was excellent.”

Regarding the quality of the rations, he urged to speak with the supplier himself – the company “Gaileta”.

According to V. Gailienė, the complaints filed are slander by a few people.

“We added dumplings to make it easier for parents to put them in the pot, maybe faster; they put a bubble back up so it wouldn’t be written who made it. We did it on the spot while we fed hot dumplings to kids, so we put them in a bag for them here, I have no idea what’s wrong here, here’s some kind of bubble, he explained.

– But in this case they are wrong (slander – 15 minutes), everyone is happy, parents are happy, thank you for that, you go dumplings, we make the children eat, I do not understand in any way what is happening here. When asked if it could have happened that one of the products in the ration was a 1.2 kg box of mayonnaise, and its validity was to expire in a few days, V. Gailienė replied that “it could not”.

“Share it, there were bags, disposable jars, share, give to sister, brother, I don’t understand.<...> this is just an excuse to write here ”, defended the manager of the company.

He stressed that there were no expired products, “maybe it’s over, nobody’s over.”

According to her, it is incorrect to compare it with other schools that gave a dry ration once a month.

SFVS: fine imposed after inspection

After contacting P. Tarvydas, he confirmed that the inspection had been completed.

“An administrative misconduct report was drawn up for Gaileta and a fine was imposed,” he said.

The specialist could not specify the amount of the fine imposed on the company, but assured that it should not exceed 100 euros because the offense was committed for the first time.
