According to the court, Regina Intienė, former head of the Document Registration Division of the Territorial Division of NDNT Klaipėda, was assigned almost 15 thousand. It was also decided to seize more than 3.7 thousand euros. euros.
The court ordered Olga Kulik, former director of the NDNT Klaipėda branch, to pay more than 37.5 thousand. ordered the recovery of 2.7 thousand euros. The three former officials were also barred from serving in public service for two years.
According to the case data, R. Intienė accepted a bribe at least 22 times promising to influence an official and gave a bribe for the desired action.
Mr. Kulik was convicted of at least 20 episodes in which he accepted bribes, directly and through an intermediary, for lawful and illegal acts. M. Gylys was convicted of 20 of the same events.
All of the convicted officers pleaded guilty, but disagreed with the classification of some of the acts. In court, they claimed that the people were asking for the documents to be processed more quickly and giving money for it, but they claimed to have determined their ability to work based on the medical data provided.
Eight people who had bribed them were also tried in the case. Six of them admitted their guilt, two denied it.
The court awarded 1.8 thousand each to five of them. fines and claimed that the lower than average fines were imposed on them because they had not been previously convicted, were disabled and were working. One of the defendants was acquitted on bail by a court.
Two of the eight people accused of bribery were acquitted because no evidence was found in the case to support the complaints made by the prosecution.
In the present case, another 42 people were charged with bribery, admitted their guilt and were cleared of bail. These people had to pay contributions ranging from € 190 to € 760 to the Victims Fund.
Already last year, the Disability and Work Capacity Assessment Service, after re-evaluating the decisions made by convicted employees, reversed some of them.
This court ruling can be appealed to the Lithuanian Court of Appeal within 20 days.
