“There will be fireplaces in the schools. There were no compelling reasons to close schools, because we know that even psychological problems are great when children do not go to school and do not communicate. We will see how we manage to manage these outbreaks ”, says A. Žvirblienė in the program“ Delfi diena ”.

After about a week, according to the teacher, it should be clear if there will be weekend-related cases on the Capital Days.

“We had a Kaziukas fair in the spring, it was scary too, but nothing tragic happened. In a week or two, you will see a sharp increase in infections. But very strict restrictions also exhaust people, and you should not restrict them too strictly. To say that it is mandatory to wear masks also outdoors ”, he points out.

We will have to be vigilant both on November 1 and at Christmas

According to the professor, security measures against the coronavirus are being relaxed as more information emerges.

“In the spring, we had the only Chinese example where complete restraint allowed people to get the virus under control, so countries took very tough measures. Now there are more examples, for example Sweden ”, says A. Žvirblienė.

Various opinions were also expressed, according to the professor, about the masks, so this could have misled people, but it is now clear that the mask helps to protect oneself.

“It just came to our knowledge then. But they should be changed if they are unique. If it is reusable, it can be washed, a hot iron really kills the virus. But even a mask worn for a few days is better than nothing,” emphasizes A. Žvirblienė.

Since people wear masks, the professor says the situation shouldn’t get too bad. However, for Christmas the virus will definitely not disappear and we will have to celebrate them in the same way as Easter: “We will have to be careful both on the first of November and at Christmas, I hope we are not in a situation like that of Spain, in Italy ”.

Warn the young

It is a common myth in society that coronavirus is not dangerous for a young person, but according to A. Žvirblienė, it is a mistake to think that this is because the way the human body reacts depends on many other factors.

“Sometimes young people who saw the virus casually got sick and changed their minds because they had to be treated in the hospital and there were serious complications,” he told Delfi Day.

“Sometimes people think that if someone has an asymptomatic form, it is some other virus. This is not true. That person can infect a close relative who will be very ill, “adds the professor.
