This was reported to TASS by a source from the regional contingency service.

“It is tentatively believed that the cause of the accident was the accidental firing of the Su-30 during the exercise. The fighter was shot down by another plane,” said the agency interlocutor.

The plane crashed in a wooded area during the planned flight. The pilots managed to catapult successfully, they did not suffer. There were no casualties or injuries on Earth either.

According to the television channel REN TV, the training flight was carried out by the fighter at the same time as the Su-35 fighter. According to plan, he had to take a photoshoot of another plane, only capturing how the correct object ends up on the target, not shooting it down.

But, by accident, he fired. According to REN TV, the possible cause of the disaster could have been a technical failure.

Telegram channel 112 claims that investigators do not rule out the blame for the self-shot or technical services that did not disable the shooting function.

According to RBK, the Su-30 fighter accident occurred for the last time in 2018. The accident took place over the Mediterranean after the fighter plane took off from the Chmeimim aviation base. Both fighter pilots died.

After the plane crash, Kommersant announced that the Su-30 crew had to patrol the Mediterranean. For security reasons, the fighter took off with all the military ammunition.

During the thorough pre-flight inspection, the specialists did not find any defects in its condition. The crew commander, Major Albert Davidjan, was experienced in conducting this type of military mission. But when the plane took off from the Chmeimim airfield, the problems began almost immediately. According to witnesses to the incident, when the fighter rose to a height of about 200 meters, the front end suddenly began to leverage.

A source at Kommersant said that at the time, for uncertain reasons, the traction of one of the Su-30’s engines had dropped significantly. Experts say the pilots would surely have had enough time to catapult in such a situation, but instead of doing so, they tried to level the plane and return to the airfield.

The reversible plane began to turn left and soon fell into the sea. The disaster occurred near the town of Jable. The left wing and tail of the plane were completely detached from the impact.
