Tamašunienė: Those from low-risk third countries should not be required to be isolated

“Once decisions have been made on the admission of third-country nationals, it would make sense not to apply quarantine requirements to people from third countries with low epidemiological risk,” the minister said.

As the ministry announced on Friday, R. Tamašunienė discussed these ideas during an informal video conference of EU interior ministers.

According to her, the European Commission and the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control could regularly issue guidelines or recommendations in the list of these third countries, defining them in a coordinated manner.

“We believe that all member states should consistently follow such recommendations,” says R. Tamašunienė.

According to the recommendations of the European Commission, the restriction on the movement of third-country nationals across the EU’s external border in Lithuania is valid until June 16.
