Survive from 240 euros. End of experiment: is it possible to exit profit without restrictions? | Lifetime

Who hasn’t found out yet? In December, Vita Marija decided to try to survive and even buy Christmas gifts with the allowance of 240 euros. Read their first article and weekly menu HERE. How the second week went and what did Vita Marija produce – read HERE. And how was the third week and what gifts the kitchen prepared, read on HERE.

In an article written last Monday I mentioned that I had spent € 75.02 on food. On Tuesday I went to the stores / shops on Kirtimų street, where the products come directly from Poland and Germany, and the restaurants and shops buy products from them.

To buy products for a week or even a few, such a place really helps save money. For example: I paid only € 8.84 for the content of this photo, which shows a complete table of vegetables and fruits.

Later I even went to the market, bought a piece of beef ham, chicken hearts, a turkey neck, a can of sardines, bread, and some more vegetables. That day, I spent a total of 17.53 Eur. With the food I bought earlier, everything was full and it was gone for this week.

I invite you to see what dishes I prepared at home last week. Definitely no worse than any cafe, where you would have spent at least 4-5 euros for lunch one day.

Last week I bought all the long-awaited and desired commenters hygiene products and toilet paper, then I spent 11.18 euros and the most “painful” order was 91.39 euros, which I had to pay for utilities.

Today, December 21, I have spent a total of € 195.12, so for the remaining 10 days I have € 45.54 left of the € 240.66 unemployment benefit.

Since the taxes have already been paid, baked gifts and I still have a lot of food, I will be able to survive, but now is the time to talk about the festive table, more precisely about the tables!

The whole family will not be able to reunite this year, so we have to adjust to the circumstances and get out of the situation. Since my two sisters and I live in the same city, we decided to make a couple of sandwiches or meals and share them so we could try everything.

Our Christmas Eve menu this year is not much different from the usual menu for this holiday.

I have:

  • Herring tartare with potatoes
  • Black bread sandwiches with fried sardines and cherry tomatoes
  • Homemade dumplings with mushrooms

I will spend about 20 euros on these and the dishes on Christmas morning.

The sisters received:

  • “Herring on the bed”
  • Crab Sticks, Corn and Tomato Salad
  • Zucchini puree and potato soup
  • Blueberry kisses
  • Jelly
  • Tiramisu
  • Ginger cookies
  • Mandarini
  • Poppy milk
  • Roads

After doing everything separately, we will share it and thus we will have the opportunity to taste everything a little. If you cooked and ate one, you’d have enough herring tartare with potatoes and sandwiches. Overeating is a sin, I really don’t see the need to sin during those vacations.

As usual, Christmas morning is usually packed with food from last night, so we just added a few things to the menu.

My sister made a duck to bake with potatoes and apples, I would make homemade liver pate and bake rye bread, and the other sister would do the “white mix.” Once again, sharing everything, we can celebrate the holidays in a fun and delicious way.

New Year’s consent is also different. This year there will be no celebration surrounded by friends, so I will dedicate this evening to focus and reflect on last year, however, 2020 has not been easy for anyone. I don’t really promise to have champagne alone at home, but maybe I’ll have a festive dinner and call my loved ones to remind me that I’m grateful to them.

Monthly summary

In short, I want to thank everyone who has read my articles. I came to the conclusion that it is possible to survive, but that amount is certainly too small.

I was lucky to be healthy this month, I didn’t have to buy shoes or pay for a dentist’s services, I was lucky to have spices on the shelves, to dry boletus and tea in the summer and freeze squirrels and berries. If I didn’t live alone, that amount of money wouldn’t be enough, but in that case, I hope my other half would like to contribute to the house too.

A good friend of mine once said the phrase: “Think better, not how to save, but how to do more.” By counting every penny that comes out of your wallet all the time this month, I was able to take the time to get the job done.

While I am young and winning, I have to use my potential and build a career so that later, without state help, I can not only support myself, but also contribute to my mother’s farm and then build my children’s future.

As we get lost, we will fall asleep, so on the occasion of the New Year, I wish that everyone cries less and does more.

Delicious, complete and most importantly – safe holidays, calm New Year’s greetings and sobriety, Lithuania!
