There are more and more arrivals to Palanga: some come only to the sea and do not stay any longer, and recently the number of those who stay at the resort for a longer period of time is increasing.
“It just came to our attention then. It’s like a growth curve,” explained R. Kmitienė.
Employees of several companies who have planned “work vacations” come to Palanga more and more frequently: such a trip, when work and rest are combined, is like a snack during the quarantine.
The need for “holidays” at the resort was already anticipated before the pandemic, when newcomers were provided with jobs.
Ingrida Valaitienė, director of the Palanga Hotel and Restaurant Association, spoke cautiously about the beginning of summer.
According to her, so far more guests are received only on weekends, but on normal days the flow of arrivals of a day is observed more.

Jonas Pirožnikas, the resort’s chief rescuers, said that by looking around the beaches, he sees that summer has really arrived.
People are attracted to sunbathing, one of the other most daring lands in the sea, whose waters have reached a temperature of 13 degrees.
“We are already receiving calls that this is what brought the dog to the beach. Concerned people today reported a beaver in the Rąžė river. Life is already boiling,” said J.Pirožnikas.
