Since the beginning of May, Šiauliai County police officers have detained 31 drunk drivers, of whom 12 have been diagnosed with mild drunkenness and 19 with moderate or severe drunkenness.

On Tuesday night, police officers patrolling the Radviliškis district were informed of a Ford Mondeo car driven by an alleged intoxicated person, who was soon seen by a patrol team on the road.

When officers began to stop the suspect vehicle, its driver increased his speed and attempted to crash. Additionally, when a police crew attempted to overtake the crashing Ford Mondeo, its driver took dangerous maneuvers and attempted to push the officers’ car off the road.

First on the country’s roads, and then on the streets of Radviliškio, the fugitive was flying at high speed, despite the fact that there were no police beacons or traffic light signals. The driver also did not appear to be detained due to the fact that at the roundabout, the car left the road, crossed the embankment and obstructed the traffic signal. However, after this maneuver, the chase ended: a Ford Mondeo tire exploded and forced the fugitive to stop.

In the car, police officers found two apparently intoxicated Pakruojis district residents, 29 and 34, and an empty driver’s seat in the passenger seats. Both men refused to drive the car and refused to explain the circumstances of the incident. The 29-year-old man was found to have an average drunkenness of 2.23 percent, and his friend refused to control sobriety. Both men were arrested and a pre-trial investigation into the incident was launched.

This is not the only story when a drunk driver is stopped by an obstacle: a tree on the road, a fence, a parked car.

May 3 In Šiauliai, a drunk man (3.06 prom.), Born in 1969, was hit by a Ford car in a garage door, and another drunk (2.14 prom.) Šiauliai, born in 1966, was hit by a Lexus RX in a tree. .

Well, and on May 12. late in the Siauliai district the intoxicated (1.76 avg.) 20-year-old Audi A4 did not stop for any obstacles, so he got off the road. Passengers traveling together needed medical assistance.

We remind you to drive a vehicle while intoxicated when set to more than 1.5 avg. drunkenness, threat of fine or arrest, or imprisonment for up to one year.

But the most important thing is not the fine, the most important thing is that an uncontrolled car can take people’s lives due to drunkenness.
