Starting in March: lower registration fees for inherited or donated properties

From now on, a fee is valid for data correction and registration of property rights, regardless of the number of property objects and the number of heirs or persons who have acquired the donated property.

Saulius Urbanavičius, director of the Registration Center, says that after the government made the decision, the Center implemented the necessary software solutions.

“It was not easy to find the right solution, because there are a variety of complex situations, where real estate is inherited on a large scale and the circle of heirs is wide. However, (…) from now on, residents will pay less for the registration of inherited or donated property, ”said S. Urbanavičius in the report.

For example, registering an inherited property with land, a house and other structures in a registry entry will cost € 17.19, regardless of the number of heirs.

Following the significant increase in fees for the Registry Center for inherited or donated properties since October last year, the government approved a proposal to reduce them in November.

Rates have risen sharply with the low-value real estate registration. For example, the registration of 15 inherited 15 low-value objects (5,300 euros) cost 46 euros, and from October 1, already 258 euros.
