Ten years later, NBA John Jerebko left the strongest basketball league in 2019.
He moved to Chimki after receiving a tempting offer, both financial and sporting, when the Russian team returned to the Euroleague.
However, the first season did not end due to the pandemic and the second turned out even worse.
Chimki lost in the mud of defeat, and last month the club announced that it was saying goodbye to J. Jerebko for personal reasons.

“I don’t know. I probably played my best basketball I’ve played for a long time. But there’s not much to say about the coach, he was fired a few weeks ago,” Jerebko said.
The Masquerade Club said goodbye to Rimas Kurtinaitis on January 15.
Andrejus Malcevas, who replaced Lithuania, did not improve the team’s results, and the club’s front row became completely thinner, as Greg Monroe and Devin Booker also left Russia.
J. Jerebko remained in Sweden.
“It wasn’t such a difficult decision to stay home when he (the coach) said so,” the former NBA basketball player continued. – Since then there have been no money transfers and the like. I was not extended to that. “
According to J. Jerebko, the club still owes him a lot, it should be hundreds of thousands of euros.
“It just came to our notice then. But my agent will take care of that. It’s not something I’m worrying about right now,” the basketball player said.
J.Jerebko played 15 games in the Euroleague this season. The forward scored 11.5 points and bounced 5.5 balls in 26 minutes on the court.

He said it was not easy to find the motivation to play in the VTB United League after the NBA Finals, with teams like Astana or Nizhny Novgorod.
But now the tall man is determined to help the Swedish national team, who will play after an eight-year break. In two weeks, Sweden will play the qualifying rounds of the European Championship.
J. Jerebko does not yet know which club he will represent in the future. The player considered that perhaps the offers will be in April, when the incorporation and NBA clubs will be sought.
And after this season, hope there is something to choose from. “I was one of the best players in the Euroleague, so I know there will be offers,” Jerebko said.
But he does not even intend to return to Russia.
“No, I will not be there. No possibility. It will be the Euroleague or the NBA, nothing more,” promised the Swede, who played the 2018-2019 season for the Golden State Warriors.

He said he now wants to focus on the national team and the family, which he expects a raise.
With his wife Johanna Lunback, the basketball player is already raising two daughters: Izabel, three, and Celine, two. A child should be born in April.
