The Transport and Tourism Commission of the European Parliament (EP) welcomed on Monday the compromise reached in December on the Mobility Package and rejected the proposals to change it.
“We do not give up and work what is needed, both the individual ministries and some of our MEPs, although there is no consensus. I think that if (Mobility Package – ELTA) finally comes into force, it will be a big enough blow not only for Lithuania. but also for the entire Eastern European operator market, ”S. Skvernelis told journalists at Seimas on Tuesday.
The legislative proposals already agreed by the EP with the EU Council last December foresee a maximum of three cabotage operations (for the transport of goods temporarily within the host EU country) per week, with a new intra-national shipment of same car that only starts after four years. days. It is also necessary to record the border crossing with tachographs to avoid fraud. The rules apply not only to tractors and trucks, but also to trucks over 2.5 tons.
