As a threat to traditional values, R. Karbauskis highlighted the legalization of prostitution and drugs.

“We hope that the president will leave if there are such attempts”, R. Karbauskis is convinced.

The peasant leader said that the president, during a conversation with peasant leaders, spoke out in favor of traditional values.

“It just came to our knowledge then [įstatymams] related to traditional values ”, stated R. Karbauskis.

According to the peasant leader, the center-left parties lacked three seats before forming a coalition, but the 32 seats won by the LVŽS allow the opposition to “have a backbone.” R. Karbauskis considered that it could be difficult for the governing coalition led by the Conservatives if they delegated a large number of Seimas members to the Government.

“In this case, the opposition will be able to block decisions that are not beneficial to Lithuania or support the presidential veto, if it were.” In this situation, our opportunities to work in the opposition are favorable and excellent, ”said R. Karbauskis.

Being in the opposition, according to R. Karbauskis, is a good time to prepare for the next elections: 2023. municipal and direct elections for mayors.

Prime Minister S. Skvernel assured that the results of the farmers in the elections are “very good”.

“Under what conditions did we have to work, what decisions to make and what kind of trust did we gain. We do not need our consolation, we understand the political cycle. We can say a very clear message: there will be a sufficiently strong and constructive opposition,” said S. Skvernelis.

The head of government hoped that the new majority would continue with the decisions made by the peasants to reduce exclusion and improve the investment environment.

“Of course, if you want, you can destroy everything and start from scratch. But I think that the continuity of those good works can be. Those who don’t fit in will be able to demonstrate the ideas we’ve been thinking about since the opposition for four years,” he said. S. Skvernelis.

The prime minister ironic that being a member of the Seimas and not occupying a leadership position is a “dream of life.” According to him, it is still difficult to say how successful he will be working in the opposition, because he has not had such a practice yet. However, S. Skvernelis emphasized that he would like to work on the Law & Order, National Security and Defense Committees.

“Although in four years he could work in any government committee”, S. Skvernelis is convinced.

According to the Central Electoral Commission (CEC), the peasants won 32 seats in the new Seimas.

The peasants who won the comparison in the 2016 elections won 54 seats and formed a government.

This year’s elections were won by the Conservatives, who have been in opposition for the past eight years and intend to form a government with the liberal parties, the Liberal Movement and the Freedom Party.
