In the blind darkness, the border guards observe the situation. One of them told LNK that the people who crossed the border were probably waiting to be found.

“They are probably crossing (to the other side of the border, aut. P.) and hoping to find them. Still, if I were an adult, if I were, I would know where to go. And where will the children go? ”- said one of the border guards to LNK.

He said the children are happy.

“They are glad they found them, still cold. “We are happy to bring, give water, show us how to create a kettle,” he said.

The border guard said that people who crossed the border were asking for help and that pregnant women were also crossing the border.

“It seems they took them out, left them, showed them the direction to follow, because there they will find them,” said the border guard.

When his colleagues encountered a group of people crossing a border, they heard the story of uniformed officers wearing masks taking families to the border.

Border guards also lift drones into the air at night, get up in the lowest places, and the state border will be checked, looking for hot spots.

“They often freeze when we find them in the forest. It often happens with young children,” the border guard said.

In the border section, where there is no fence, special terrain is prepared; Traces can be seen on it if people cross the border.

“In the past, they communicated more, but now it’s all greetings,” said a 14-year-old border guard.

Around 5 a.m., when it’s fully lit, another team joins the border guards: a dog handler.

The dog may smell traces of people that the officer may not notice.

A cynologist inspecting the border section said there had been a recent decrease in Belarusian border guards at the border.

“It just came to our notice then. Now we just say hello, but now reluctantly. In the past, they talked more anyway. Usually we talk about the situation on the wall,” said the cynologist.

He said he thought crossing the border would help the refugees.

“I was very surprised to see a border barrier near the crossings and they crossed without any problem,” said the cynologist.

LNK journalist P. Skučas also tried to speak to border guards working on the Belarusian border. They greeted but showed no further contact. When asked if they knew anything about the migrants traveling from their country, they said there would be no comment.
